I understand where he’s coming from

But he could definitely be more sensitive about trauma that quote “has to happen”

(Putting things in spoiler boxes for others, spoilers for MCU up til Loki season 1)

Yeah it is the needs of the many argument vs needs of the few again, which is a really common theme for multiverse things. They did it in Loki with the whole “sending timelines to the end” thing.

Playing devils advocate, Miguel cannot comprehend how he can afford to be sensitive or compassionate. It prevents him from doing his job. However, I think that he is wrong about canon events. Narratively, there needs to be a reason to have him be wrong and our band of peoples to be right. So I am expecting there is a way to stop the canon events from happening sometimes. Of course since there are infinite spider men, you can’t see everybody, but there are some where you can pull a miles and save a couple of people.

      Spoiler

I haven’t seen Loki (we got rid of Disney plus four years ago because of their political affiliation) but side note, someone my mom knew in high school was one of the season two writers

Miguel… ultimately, he wants to do what’s best. But the way he disrupted a canon event may have something to do with it. He replaced a dead version of himself, making him an anomaly. Miles was still alive, so if he went back to try to save his dad, it would be a different situation. It kind of reminds me of the AF1 scene in Iron Man 3. While it was really hard to save everyone, it was possible.
