Through the Living Hope

So we were doing our marching in the morning, you know, as we always do, and @Dead, who's next to me for a good portion of the show, says "Did you see the kidney stone?" I was confused, and he explained that he watched someone cough up a kidney stone. Internally I was saying, "Yeah, right. Like a teenager is going to cough up a kidney stone."

So we marched through the third movement of our show, and after some rehearsal, we were walking over and he showed me. There was this red blob on the ground (I don't like Stranger Things anymore, but it looks like a baby Demogorgon). Like, it looked like a small organ. I was fine at first, then walking away I started gagging.

I got info from Dead on who it was and made sure he was okay. From his perspective, he said he had a bloody nose and a lot of mucus that he coughed out. There was a trail of blood drops on his (unfortunately) white hoodie and a blood smear on his cheek.

So we do more rehearsal, and there's about eight of us near the blob. One trumpet says, "I'll give you $200 if you touch it." By this point I was gagging again. Then someone else said, "I'll give you $500 if you put your finger in and lick it." Then Dead said, "Nah, pick it up and eat it."

I may be a band kid, but sometimes band kids scare me.
