I think it may be some spren, maybe the BondsmithSpren (Stormfather + probably Nightwatcher + …). Or the Aimians. Or one of the secret societies. Those 3 options aren't exactly mutually exclusive.

I think Kaladin is too emorionally intense for Shallan, he can remind her of her father too much. Sure, he's not a drunk and he's not a bad person (too much), but he can get really angry and intense, I think he can be possesive too. Shalladin could be a very toxic relationship for both of them IMO.
I like her scenes with Adolin, this works pretty well and can get many ups and downs without love triangle issues.
KaladinxJasnah FTW. (however, if only Lift was older…)

If a misting were to ingest a Lerasium alloy that corresponded to a different allomatic art, would they be able to use both their original power as well as the new one, or would the new power replace their original misting power?
IIRC WoB says that it would overrite his powers.

↑ yes.

I was thinking along those lines too. My thoughts:
What makes text Ruin-safe? Metal. Why? Because it's holy / a focus / whatever you name it.
What is Roshar's equivalent of metal? Gems? IMO it's symmetry. Most of the scripts are symmetrycal: glyphs and women's script, which mr T uses…
But that script on the map (people say it's Thaylen, I think it may be the sormwardens' script) is not.
I'd love to see a picture of Amaram's notes (the ones Shallan copied from his room BTW in a very similar way to what Sazed did in the something of Seran). If they aren't symmetrical… ^^
As for reusing his ideas – if the magics work in similar ways it would make sense for different Shards to use the same tricks sometimes. I doubt Ruin was the only one to think “hey, I can mass up the writings!”.
And if Odium is bound not to do that, we still have Cultivation left.

That's an interesting question. What makes you guess Dustbringer?
Personality traits. Not how she feels, but what she does. She is very brave (jumping from the island-thing) and obedient (to her babsk). Seems the right kind of person for a Dustbringer, unless I'm mistaking the orders.

Probably a RAFO-bait, but is Rysn becoming a Dustbringer?

Well, those 17th Shard dudes off looking for Hoid are pretty impotant. one is Raoden, one is Demoux, and I think one is Galladon, Kolo?
It's not Raoden, it's some guy from unpublished book, there is a WoB on that. And yes, the others are Demoux&Galladon.

He is a Herald, I think: "I'm worried about Ash. She's getting worse. We weren't supposed to get worse"
. He consideres himself in the same "we" as Ash (aka. Shalash).About "my lord's own blade" – it sounds curious to me too, but maybe the Heralds have various relationships with Jezren – Ash is his doughter, this guy may be his servant or liege, Nalan may be less subservient to him.
Also, I'm not sure if this guy is subservient to Nalan, maybe Nalan is just being rude.
About the Nightblood test proving that Nalan is not corrupted: the test may have something to do with local Shard's Intent ore some other Cosmere variable and not work on Roshar. Even Szeth seems to be able to hold Nightblood and not get crazy, so…

I think there is a WoB about Kaladin having SAD. Didn't see any about Renarin and ASD though.
As for why stormlight didn't heal it — I think it's a similar case to Kaladin's slave brands: he sees himself like that, so it won't heal.

I think the "Thaylen" number labels may be off.
In the chapter where Shallan's father disinherits Helaran, he moves everyone up to Nan Balat, Tet Wikim, and Asha Jushu.
Previously it had been Nan Helaran, Tet Balat, Asha Wikim, and Van Jushu.
Currently the key has them arranged so that Nan in "Thaylen" matches Nan in Alethi as 2, followed by Asha as 3 and Tet as 4. It seems that the correct order should be Nan (1), Tet (2), Asha (3), Van (4). (Or if the two Nan numerals do correlate, then increase each by 1)
Also, I'm not sure where the label "Thaylen" came from. These are Veden titles that designate inheritance order. Did I miss somewhere else that these words are used?
I think number 1 was the their father. Makes a lot of cultural sense to me.
Edit: No, after he's dead, Nan Blat is still Nan. So you're probably right.

Wow, Harakeke, awesome lots of work!
I'm glad I don't have to use a script like that, because even with that key, I still can't see the letters in half of the glyphs and why do they read as they do.
I wonder what is the text of surge symbols, but I cannot figure it out. Also:
Those are the colored symbols from rear WoK endplate, thanks to the vector version I was able to straighten them quite well.
I cannot translate them (I've tried), maybe someone else will be able to do it? I'm not sure if they even make sense, but maybe they are the Unmade names or something. I don't know.
They may have right/left halves wrong, since the originals are circular, I had to guess where they begin.

Thank you, I must have missed that topic. I did search, maybe on wrong phrase. Sorry.

Hi, I found there are some words in Alethi slightly visible in the picture of lait plants. It's almost invisible in the book, better in the web version of that picture.
I've enchanced it a bit and mirrored (judging by shape of letters, it was needed) but I can't decipher it, even with the magic bookmark.
Can anyone help?
(big pic, downloading suggested)

Actually if Taln is not Taln and real Taln is not dead (as suggested here) then the other Herald in the prologues may be the real Taln.
1 -
We know the "Taln" from the city is the same one who is now in the warcamp
How do we know that? I don't think we do.

Heralds on chapter headings suggest that the one in WoK epilogue is Taln, but the one met by Amaram in WoR is not.
Who could possibly steal a Herald, hmmm? ^^

How many Heralds were present at the SA prologue party (= the party where Szeth killed Gavilar)?

Maybe the change in Sadeas' personality is caused (among other reasons) by the corruption of having a Shardblade?

Um, it's Nale, who says "my lord's own Blade", not his companion. Also, "my lord's", not "our lord's", so the other guy isn't a Herald, I think. But he tells Nale to shut up, knowing (I assume that from the dialogue) who he is. Pretty sure of himself, that guy.
Looking at what Nale ends up with, I think it may be Vasher. But shouldn't Jasnah recognize him? I'm not sure about the timing. When did Zahel start being a swordmaster for Adolin and generally living in Alethkar?
I'm pretty sure Nale's companion is a worldhopper anyway.
Edit: OK, sorry, I misread.

Thank you everyone for the comments (also, I've turned on comments on the doc)!
- The Windrunners' extra power, the one you have listed as fighting skill, is far from certain or confirmed. In fact, since Brandon advised me to keep an eye on the number of the Windrunners' squires, it might be completely wrong. Add a question mark, maybe?
As I have mentioned in the comments, columns with non-bolded headers are all pure guesses and my opinions. Other are based on the wiki and have guesses marked with question marks.

Yes, I'm trying to tie the forms to Heralds, not spren, and there'll probably be more than one form per row.
Also, creationspren may be "lesser" Lightweaver spren --- I mean, attracted to them as windspren to Windrunners. So they are kind of related to Cryptics.

Hi, I made a kind of reference document (mostly stuff from the wiki) on Heralds and Surges and chapters (in progress) + some wild guesses, I thought maybe it could be useful to someone:

Nah, I think Zahel is Ishi. Both his chapters have double Ishi's head on headings.
Also, he seems too much an expert on Shardblades for a non-Rosharian. Could be there for some time, I guess.
Vasher may be the guy talking with Nale in the prologue, sounds like him too.
Also: hello again everyone, I've finaly read WoR and kinda came back to the forum (but not much time for them

Nine secret societies? And nine Heralds not counting Telanel. Coincidence?
