    The brat, Siylna thinks. Still...I win. "Shall we?" She says, offering him her arm. "My Sunshine...my King." She gives him a mock bow, but her eyes are serious. Let him think he's in charge. Let him believe it all...the stronger the puppet, the better.

    Siylna smiled darkly, rising and pulling Victor up with her. "Exactly right, dear."

    Rue snickered again, then covered it, her face falling easily back to Aes Sedai serenity. "Through the kitchens would probably be easiest."

    Rue bursts into laughter.

    Siylna pulled him closer, putting her forehead to his. “You are a gamemaker and a Victor. You and me, we own this world. We own all of them.”

    “Not me,” Rue said quickly. “Don’t do anything to me.”

    Siylna looks at him slowly, eyes full of love. “You were her Cassian. You were a naive little boy once; we were all children. And maybe you could have stayed that boy, but you didn’t, and you are him no longer. Now you are Victor; you are my Victor.” She reached for his hand. “Me and you, on top of the world, remember?” She gave him a small smile. “We’re better than they are, Victor. You don’t need to stoop to their level, because you…you are my Sunshine.”

    Siylna pushes him back far enough that she can look into his eyes. “Victor,” she said firmly. “Oh, my Victor. You don’t need to listen to anything she tells you, regardless of whether it’s true or not.”

    Rue sighed. “I could do it, but everyone would need to stay close to me, and I can’t keep it up for very long.”

    Siylna pulled him tighter. “I’m so sorry, Victor. I should have been here for you. I’m here now, though, I’m here and you’re safe.”

    Siylna glares at him. “Out.” Then she turns to Victor, pulling him close. “I’m so sorry,” she whispers. @SmilingPanda19

    Rue doesn’t care. She walks forward, opening the door of the boathouse and peering out.

    It takes a long time, but eventually it falls down. It’s long, heavy, and skinny though, and will take way too much work to move across the river.
