    "My dad wanted me to be a warrior, my mom a healer. I hated my father, so I developed a tendency to mess with people because he's a general and that's all I could do. And I assumed that would be the most complicated my life would ever get."

    He nodded, considering. "I had a very different personality. Much more... lively. I knew less, and I cared less about some things and more about others. I was more connected to things. You would hardly recognize me."

    He shook his head. "You didn't know me before I died the first time. Or the second."

    He did not seem to understand. "Why did you just tell me about how you're feeling? I don't see why you'd want to an agent of Death about these things, anyway."

    He just looked at her now, though his eyes looked just slightly away from hers. She could see the redness that still remained from his tears. "Why are you talking to me about this?"

    Lerac just nodded.

    Lerac shrugged. "That sort of thing varies a lot. Especially in such a complicated situation." "Let's keep looking for someone who can help?"

    He smiled a bit. "I love you. It's going to be fine. You're going to be fine." He seemed to be trying to convince himself as much as her.

    He shook his head. "Like I said, I deal with it on my own time. Anyway, you less than most should be concerning yourself with other people's problems right now." TAAron sighed. "We both need each other. How about we leave it at that?"

    "You don't need that to be useful. And even if you weren't, it wouldn't matter to me." "I didn't say where to, did I?" His voice was frustratingly hoarse from the crying.

    TAAron shook his head. "I should understand it. It's power from my own world." As soon as he saw her, Lerac shot to his feet, wiping his eyes and averting his eyes from hers.
