  1. "I went there in part because I was in a slump. I didn't know the whole truth of what had happened to my home world and spent years researching and travelling. I was tired, and alone."
  2. "That's alright. It's not very private." "It's a bit complicated. The books are connected to a whole suite of magical abilities."
  3. He yawned. "I hope we can find somewhere to stay. Does anyone know if they like outlanders here?"
  4. "I think I should probably just leave them be. Just because I have the powers of a god doesn't mean I'd make a good one to trillions of people. Being immortal doesn't change the fact that I've only lived for just over two decades."
  5. "Should I be trying to hear them, or should I just keep the connections quiet?"
  6. "The Queen showed it to me before I killed her, too. It incapacitated me for a second, but I was able to keep it apart from my normal thoughts with effort. I think the power helped. But for some reason I wasn't able to do that this time."
  7. "As far as I know. I'm not really sure how they were affected by her death. I got some impressions, but it was too much all at once."
  8. "Yes. It completely overwhelmed me. I managed to stop the communication, but the connections are still there."
  9. "I don't control them. I let them be. And I offered the small connection to my power as a voluntary choice. If I could let go completely now, I would. But there are too many connections to cut and my power won't let me give it up."
  10. "That's what I'm trying to figure out. I thought that maybe if I could connect a large group of people to me in the right way, the power would view them as valid holders of it and let me let go."
  11. "It's been a while now. Anyways, that's why I was able to become a god. All of my world's power focused on me, because I'm the last remaining entity from my home world."
  12. "The one I lived in was destroyed, but I managed to escape and was cast into interdimensional space.*
  13. "My first interdimensional travel was an accident."
  14. "It's... unusual. And interesting. I'm just curious."
  15. "Huh." TAAron considered the idea, but it didn't map very well to his current situation. The nature of his links to the hive made him a controlling force.
