  1. Can you return the man to his body?
  2. Well, maybe before trying to jump to that, we can just walk around a little bit? Look for things to do, places to be?
  3. You could always... try to find your own. He looked at her intently.
  4. ...What do you want to do now?
  5. I'd guess so. You say you were created for this, charged with this... That sounds like you're being manipulated. I didn't understand why you were so deadset on this for a while, but it makes more sense now.
  6. It's okay. It sounds like you were under a certain level of... undue influence.
  7. Quite. Because if you just try to go above everyone in the confines of the system, you are still being limited by it and all of its influences.

  15. There was none. He saw her face, eyes open and empty.
  16. You can and will not be free of the control of others and the world around you. Or of natural chaos and randomness. --- It was Julie, dead on the ground.
  17. Perhaps not literal fate, but random chance can and will usurp everything you create. And even if you are not on limited time yourself, the world around you will ever change. --- They came to a clearing, with two slabs of stone in the center, stained with blood. A still form lay in the grass nearby. @Just-A-Stick
  18. Even if you somehow are not controlled by any person, which I still believe is foolish to consider as a possibility, you will be controlled by time. No one has much, and you are subject to the whims of fate. He found a patch of broken twigs and crushed plants. It looked like there had been a struggle. Nearby, there was a hole in the earth that looked recently dug up.
