    He took it, and tried to use it somehow. He concentrated, he tried not concentrating. Nothing happened.

    Eventually, he seemed to come to. "What is happening to me?" His voice was hoarse.

    His soul was in chaos. The pulverized remains of his former soul seemed to swirl around and crash together, and the new soul cowered in pain and fear.

    There did not appear to be anyone nearby. Tayen just shook on the floor in obvious pain.

    He went silent, and slowly drifted off. Helda was awoken to a cry of pain from Tayen.
