  1. She nodded. “S—“ she cut off as the man waved at her in panic. Instead, she nodded to him and turned to walk in that direction.
  2. “A cave west of here.” He pointed. “Don’t let him fool you. He’s devoured many who merely seek to parley.” He shuddered.
  3. The man hesitated. “There is one more thing. Would you kill Famine for us?” ”Famine was no longer,” Beosta said, proud of how poetic it sounded. “No, no, it doesn’t work like that,” the man told her. “Only inanimate things. Environment. Not living beings… not anymore.”
  4. Beosta glanced at him, then at the other dude. She frowned. “Grow,” she told the plants.” Nothing happened. ”You have to narrate,” the man told her. “Uh… the plants grew.” Fields of wheat shot up, stretching far off into the distance like a sudden sea of gold rippling in the wind. Beosta’s eyes widened.
  5. The man stared at him. "Right. You're not from here. Our city is extremely susceptible to narration, even from non-narrators. All you have to do is say that our crops grow, and it will happen."
  6. As well he should The man brought them out of town to a large plot of land split up into many farms. He hesitated, glanced at the two, and said, "Please make the plants grow." Beosta wasn't sure what to think.
  7. The man led them out to the street, where bystanders stared and quickly vanished. "Our city is going through difficult times," he said. "It has been difficult to produce enough food for the city recently, with Famine hanging around." He didn't expect a reply. He was merely making small talk.
  8. ehehe prolly won't be much of one... I'm making this up as I go The man from before returned. He eyed them warily. "Not a word," he reminded them, then opened the bars.
  9. Beosta nodded and sat down on the bench. Being at the mercy of strangers sucked.
  10. I hereby declare that Gail is with them cuz I lost track of her
  11. How could you??? I’m such an adult I’m so adulty incredibly extremely *cries* adulty

      The Wandering Wizard

      *hugsssssssss *

  13. No I would never my dude
  14. She probably didn’t think she needed to. It probably shocked her when she couldn’t. Beosta felt a sting of guilt for some reason, and she scratched her little stoat’s head. also what age range are you thinking Heh Beosta and Livetha need to learn to be nice maybe after they get at each others throats a bit no more narration for Livetha, preferably
  15. I’ll bet she got locked in. Beosta’s handwriting was crooked. My mentor hinted at it. Livetha wasn’t a Narrator anymore. Beosta could try to get Qodi, but they were too far away; she couldn’t risk that. She’d have to Bond a weakling stoat. She sighed. Better than nothing. Ehehe I did her backstory and the dishes at the same time :3 also my breaks over byeee
  16. The boy did come back, carrying a squirming stoat. He shoved it into Beosta’s arms and ran off, looking traumatized. Livetha stilled and quivered in her arms. Beosta stroked her fur and murmured little things. The stoat buried her face in Beosta’s elbow— in shame or in fear, Beosta couldn’t tell.
  17. Bad’s eyes got big. “I don’t remember getting tinied!”
  18. I don’t want Livetha stuck in a pantry. They promised they’d bring her. The boy dashed off. Hopefully it turns out okay.
  19. “But…”
  20. “Where’s 9&!shf?” He wiped his tears away. “I don’t see it!”
  21. She rolled her eyes. You’re welcome. A kid knocked on the wall outside their cell, looking absolutely terrified. He had a dagger, but it was sheathed this time. “St-st-stoat?” Beosta opened her mouth, thought better of it when the boy flinched back, and handed him a paper that said, she’s in the second floor pantry.
