    Bat pet the bird. "Why do I even try?" He whispered. "This universe has it out for me. Or maybe it's the Narrators doing this. I keep failing."

    He managed to drag himself a fair distance away, then curled up by the stump of another tree after carefully checking the branches. He couldn't help it. He started crying.

    “Woah! Woah. Hey, careful. He’s scared.” “What about me? Is there a way to find out?” YOU SHOULD DRAW BAT He’s a sweet lil guy (average height) with dark and shaggy red- brown hair and pale skin. He has tattoos all over his arms and up the side of his neck (just stylized patterns or dragons or whatever I don’t have those exact yet so I don’t care). His clothing is pretty dark and bland and normal for a cave person. Just a shirt and trousers.

    Bat’s eyes widened. “Hi,” he whispered, but stepped back. “I’d love to pet you, but your mom would get mad at me.”

    She nodded, faintly registering that Sub-version-2 had left. But she didn’t care. This was something she needed to know. Bat hesitated, but dropped the dagger back to his side and crouched by the bush.

    Hehe I don't care too much as long as he don't die or get maimed in the long run Bat cursed. He retrieved his dagger from the ground (cuz he'd traveled back to get it). "You should probably go," he told his bird. "I'm some kind of magnet for bad things happening."

    "Yeah," Lady Bug said, then frowned. "I've heard that before. Interesting." Bat finished fixing himself up for the moment and limped back toward the edge of the trees. The serum usually lasted at least half an hour--- often up to three quarters. "I wouldn't touch that if I were you."
