  1. "Oh. No, it just teleports." "Confiscate it anyway," Rose urged. "I'm not gonna confiscate it. Tam can confiscate it if she wants to." "Coward." He sighed again.
  2. Not really. Lytikyria's our god, but she's not evil. --- "...oh. Thanks." She didn't appear to have been poisoned, strangely. Particles of the same ashy substance were present in her bloodstream and tissue, especially where she was tattooed. But it didn't seem to be hurting her at all. He laughed. Doesn't it? Bat perked up. "Is that my compass?" "My compass," Rose corrected. "That you stole." He sighed.
  3. "Lytikyria tiny evil," one spirit tried, floating lazily in a circle around the largest turret-pile. "Mmm. I see." -- Rose took a breath, relieved. "Well? What did you do?" It would make the most sense to worship my Author, I guess... but that feels weird. I wonder if my Author has any deities.
  4. *Snickers* "Well... I want it to be huge, but I want room for the spirits. So maybe tiny windows and big arches?" --- Rose closed her eyes and hoped she wasn't dying. A couple, yeah. But they're all kind of fake, right?
  5. A mote, huh? A mote of dust? She paused. "How big do we want it to be? By which I mean how small should I make the windows?" -- "Fine, never mind." She closed her eyes, whispering something that looked like a prayer.
  6. She smiled at him and began shaping the outer wall. "Evil castle," the rock mentioned, floating over to watch. "Evil castle. That's right." -- "Wait," Rose said, panic entering her voice. "What are you doing? What's this thing doing?" She still obeyed, though. "I could try and break them," Bat offered. Then immediately wished he hadn't.
  7. Beosta beamed and gathered mounds of sand. "I'm not very good at shaping them, I think. Are you good at shaping them?" -- Rose stiffened and flinched back, but did as directed. I LOVE Avatar tla
  8. She stared at the note, halfway positive that she was already dead and this was the hallucination of a dead brain. “…okay.” She shrugged. “You draw angry eyebrows on it.” — “I wasn’t going to eat them,” Rose said hotly. “And to be honest, I’d rather take my chances with…” She trailed off, noticing again the ash by the tree. She swallowed. “Never mind.”
  9. HEY. THAT’S PART OF MY GRANDFATHER.
  10. “Huh. Weird looking shadow.” He put his gun away.
  11. Yeah, only the ones I like
  12. She nodded. “We could make an evil sandcastle.” — Rose growled. Rose jumped and scrambled away. Rose would never know, since she came from a culture where Narrators were evil. She wasn’t taking any chances, even if this WAS some kind of fever dream.
  13. Cuz you’re my friend!
  14. Beosta nodded. “It’s been nice to just relax, you know?” — She looked away and growled, frustrated. “Well, can you please get this off me?”
  15. Rose’s Author thinks all this hate feels very familiar (hehe), but doesn’t deny that Rose deserves it. Or that the Author enjoys it. The Author wonders if they should continue without @Kino “Like where?”
  16. “I had no idea spirits could learn either.” “Learn lots of words,” the rock said, bouncing from side to side. — “Or maybe you poisoned me!” She kicked the machine away from her and glared at Tam helplessly. “She didn’t poison you,” Bat said, exasperated. “Maybe she did! I know she doesn’t like me.”
  17. You do! That’s a good thing You’re a scudface too!
  18. “Mmhmm. They’re weird, too.” She reached out and tapped one. It was more solid this time, and she could feel it misting apart around her finger. The leaf giggled. — “Hey—HEY!” Rose scrambled away, trying to brush the machine off of her. “What did you do to me?” “Calm down. She didn’t hurt you.” Bat glanced at her, just to be sure. FIRELORD OZAI The wraith thing cackled and flew at him.
  19. Augh that sounds so good AW SCUD U
  20. Or he would have, if the blade hadn’t gone right through. The specter cackled. She— now identifiable as a woman— clawed at his face, leaving deep scratches with her nails. It went through, again. The beast cackled again, red flashing in her eyes. It faded after a second. “Pick up talk,” the leaf said, sounding satisfied. — She shook her head. “She can make it do that, but… I don’t know why it happened.”
  21. More words to talk. —— Rose shook her head, looking away to conceal the frantic tears welling up in her eyes. “I don’t even know what it is. But they— they’re all like zombies. Bat, don’t let me become a zombie. Just kill me instead.” Bat seemed deeply disturbed by the idea. Through the window flew something that launched itself at Gurwarp, shrieking.
  22. A ghostly sound howled through the window. Whimpering could be heard from the closet. "Lytikyria gone. Lytikyria okay?" "Uh... who?" The leaf bobbed in a frustrated sort of way. Need more words. --- Rose looked disturbed. She stared at the ash and swallowed, hard. "I... I don't think it's contagious. I think she needs to infect you somehow..." "Rose... is everyone down there infected?" Bat asked quietly. "Everyone."
