    “But—!” All of that had gone out of Bat’s head along with the rest of the plan when Malevolence had betrayed them. He did take stock of his assets though. OH, RIGHT! Well, scud, how was he gonna get close? “I’m sure they will,” he said, trying to be reassuring. “I don’t know what happened to my dad, but he moved on when we lost my mom, so he’ll be okay.” He wasn’t. He died of overstress and grief.
