No spoilers past Row “Good luck, human, when he does come. You are not protected from him as many on this world are. You have made deals that exempt you from such safety. She faded from the mirror, and Taravangian hunched over, trembling as he continued to write” Why does making a deal with Odium mean you're no longer protected. This is from Taravangian and Sja-anat's conversation and was does Sja-anat even come to him "This is a seal of deputation. I have legal jurisdiction in this land, as granted by your king. You will authenticate it." How did Nale get all the kingdoms to give him these seals for him to hunt Radiants. Did he have to reveal his identity to the leaders "We'll add a line to the contract," Wit said, "naming me as a contractual liaison for Honor -whom Dalinar represents. This will protect me from Odium's direct attacks for the life of the contract. He will have to abide by those terms, as they are part of the promise Rayse made by taking up the Shard of Odium. " "I can't keep this bubble up much longer, I'm afraid," Wit said. "He'll notice if I do-and then he'll destroy me. I have violated our agreement, which exposes me to his direct action. I'd rather not be killed, as I have seven more people I wanted to insult today." These two excerpts seem to contradict each other and who is bound in this deal Rayse or the shard and if it's Rayse does Taravangian and any new Shard have to obey this agreement And Vyre would see him dead first. A mercy" Why doesn't he want Kaladin to join him in service to Odium. doesn’t he view it as a good thing “Bless you, Renarin, Dalinar thought. For making my life unpredictable to this being. For letting me bluff.” How does he and Renarin know Odium can’t see him because of Renarin’s future sight “ Tonight I found reason to have him killed, but it will take me months of planning to achieve the proper legality.” Nale seems to follow legal action. What action could he do against Gavilar. I think he thinks he’s transferred Ulim to Roshar from Braize “I was betrayed,” he finally said, “by someone I trusted. Soon after, one of us was needed to go to Thaylenah—my people, though small, like to know what is happening in the great nations of the world. I volunteered. So I wouldn’t have to be around the one who had treated me so.” do we know who betrayed Nikli? Is the one of the Sleepless who works for the Ghostbloods?

Specific Reading Order for Sunlit Man and Wind and Truth for my specific circumstance
Munazir replied to Munazir's question in Cosmere Q&A
What I know/remember Sigzil is alive and In the far future Sigzil spren is messed up/maybe dead and functions weird now Since Sigzil can not hit people like a certain person in Secret History he must have used a dawnshard People are after him because he might know where the dawnshard he once held is In WaT all I know is Sigzil has a plot line and a decision he has to make all book but that is it.- 6 replies

ONLY READ THIS IF YOU HAVE READ SA5 AND SUNLIT MAN but dont spoil SA5 or Sunlit Man for me. I’ve read about 40% of The Sunlit Man, but that was a few months ago. Now that Wind and Truth is out, I want to continue with either book — but I’ll have to either re-read Sunlit Man and finish it, or start Wind and Truth. I’m trying to decide which to do. Before Wind and Truth released, everyone recommended reading Sunlit Man first. But after W&T came out, I’ve seen people say they wish they’d read Sunlit Man afterward. I think that’s because Sigzil/Nomad has some kind of decision to make in Wind and Truth, and reading Sunlit Man might spoil that. I’m not sure exactly how, and I’d like to keep it that way. So here’s where I’m at: I’ve read 40% of Sunlit Man already (some time ago). I’m trying to decide: Should I re-start Sunlit Man now, finish it, then read Wind and Truth (assuming I’ve already passed the “reveal” everyone refers to)? Or should I start Wind and Truth now, then come back to Sunlit Man later if I haven’t yet reached the part that’s relevant? I think the reveal is about Sigzil/Nomad using a Dawnshard, which messed up his bond with his spren, and that he’s being hunted — but that’s all I know. So what would you recommend? Should I continue Sunlit Man or jump into Wind and Truth first?

I’m about to start that. I thought Allomander Jak was a story and not a real life event in Scadrial

I forgot that the Kandra when back into mistwraiths. If it wasn’t explained in the books Is it a WoB. Same for the bit about Koloss. I haven’t checked the boxes yet is it a WoB. Lerasium and Atium are the two god metals then. Lerasium turns someone Mistborn and Atium gives you future sight. Those seem very unbalanced. Atium seems a lot weaker then Lerasium since Atium could be countered by Electrum

I have read only AoL haven’t started book 5 yet. I read the Ars Arcanum at the end of AoL and I’m wondering is this a spoiler? They talked about and 17 and 18 metal. God Metals. Should I know that. Can I read the metal charts? Like I know now that Aluminium Mistings can take someone reserves away. Should I know that yet? It is better to learn it during the future books. Like I didn’t know what type of Twinborn Wax was and enjoyed learning about it. It wouldn’t have ruined the story but I enjoyed learning about the Twinborn powers during the book rather then before. How are Koloss and Koloss blooded a thing. Wax talks about a clan of Koloss and we meant something whose Koloss blooded. I thought anyone who wasn’t in TLR’s caches or in the caverns at the Pits died so how would Koloss have survived. If it explains later please don’t say. Kandra. They all killed themselves so how do they work for Harmony. That’s what was said in Ars Arcanum. My guess is the Constanble is now one

So I can listen to the audiobook and just look at the changes ( the canon version )

What do I need to know about White Sand to understand the Cosmere

I was checking up the changed version and apparently the prose is the better version but GN is the canon version. Is that right? -
What do I need to know about White Sand to understand the Cosmere
Munazir replied to Munazir's question in Cosmere Q&A
Yh I was reading that summary and was just getting confused. If I’d already read Whtie Sand and just needed a refresher I think it would be good but as someone who hasn’t read it before hand it just left me confused. Oh I thought I heard somewhere that the entire book was getting a prose version -
What do I need to know about White Sand to understand the Cosmere
Munazir replied to Munazir's question in Cosmere Q&A
I tried to read the GN but I got bored and I assumed the prose version wasn’t the full story. I’ll give the graphic audio a go since it’s less then 20hrs. I thought could get like an overview for what I need to know to catch connections and then read the newer version I heard was gonna one day be released -

The books I have left are RoW Era 2 secret Projects 1&3 ES SH I know that that Khriss is a worldhopper that writes the Ars Arcanum. I tried to read the coppermind but it’s not really effective when you haven’t read the comic -
Last question about SH before BoM or after. I was told that if I already know about who the main character is then order doesn’t matter

Was is the deal that would 1 day allow Ruin to overcome/beat/kill Preservation and destroy the world I have read Warbreaker but I don’t recall them mentioning any Shards Is this from ES or SH. I’ve heard they tackle the ideas of the Gods etc but I haven’t read them yet. I was on Reddit asking what should come first SH or BoM/era 2 and there’s a lot of back and forth. Apparently they both spoil each other. this is the lastest message I’ve gotten “I would personally say era two spoils SH more than SH spoils era two, as they do just casually say what happens during the climax at one point.”

Elend was a strong mistborn because he ate the bead of Preservation. He was able to take control of Koloss would he have been able to pierce copper clouds. why was Vin so strong? She can pierce copper clouds due to her sister being a seeker but why was she able to take control of Koloss and why did Kelsier say her pushes were too strong. Was she always taking in the mists slightly?

This is what i think I get of it. So all life is of both Ruin and Preservation like a tree or a horse. Equal parts. But Preservation wanted something with sentience so he have to more of himself to make humans with Ruin. Vin is human so she should be equal parts of both but she was able to defeat Ruin because she could do more then preserve she could destroy to protect. this is my current understanding of it but I’m not sure how right it is. I have been told some of my answers are answered in SH but I’m not sure if I should read it now or after BoM

So did Preservation give sentience but Ruin and Preservation gave life to humans. This part is confusing because I’ve just finished HoA and Ruin says that Humans are of both Gods but Vin says later in the book: He didn't give up part of himself, making himself weaker, simply so that he could create intelligent life! He knew he needed something of both Preservation and of Ruin.

Why were Ruin and Preservation so different to Odium and Honour
Munazir replied to Munazir's question in Cosmere Q&A
Is this alluding to the fact that at the end of Oathbrifner it is revealed that humans and their powers came from a different world and maybe their gods so that’s why they don’t have as much control -
Why were Ruin and Preservation so different to Odium and Honour
Munazir posted a question in Cosmere Q&A
No spoilers for RoW why are the shards different. Shouldn’t all the rules apply to all of them Can the Rosharian gods see metal? Can they impact the world like Ruin with the ashmounts -
I've only read up to Dawnshard (no RoW), Era 1, and Warbreaker "In that case, the spike instead steals the very power of Preservation existing within the soul of the people. (The power that, in fact, gives all people sentience.)A Hemalurgic spike can extract this power, then transfer it to another, granting them residual abilities similar to those of Allomancy. After all, Preservation's body-a tiny trace of which is carried by every human being -is the very same essence that fuels Allomancy." If Preservation gives sentience then how do others in the cosmere have sentience And what does it mean SIMILAR to allomancy or is this a RAFO.

Im not sure what you mean by edit above

Ah that’s good. I need to stay off anything to do with the Cosmere until I’m caught up. By posting twice in a row. Do you mean I posted this forum or whatever you would call it twice. I think it’s a glitch it has always done this ever since I’ve started using is website

What do you mean double post

SPOILERS for the entire cosmere however and I’m not sure if they are all correct. I’ve read all of stormlight expect RoW ( part of why I was underwhelmed by the ending of TFE was I thought the Lord Ruler had a shard and Vin would get it but at the time I mixed up Dawnshards and Shards of Adonasium )and Warbreaker. (Plus TFE & WoA) I’m making my way through the cosmere(I’m pretty sure the list I’m using is one you posted ) right now. The spoiler I saw was something to do with Sazed becoming a Shard and I know what the Shards are from Honour, Odium and Cutivation. And I actually saw a video talking about Adonasium so I know there’s 16 shards. So rn I’ve made the connection of the 16 shards and the 16% of people that fall ill. I know the Marsh goes away to a different planet at the end I think Demoux becomes a worldhopper looking for Hoid. I think he’s the one in the first Interludes of TWoK I’m aware that Kelsier is the protagonist of Secret History so I wasn’t shocked that he returned but I was surprised on how soon it was. and I actually saw on Reddit that Thaidakar is Kelsier but I’m not certain if I’m right on that

I do know where Sazed’s story ends so I can see why him being soo invested in true religion would be interesting on rereads
