This is one of those publishing thing that makes me feel foolish for buying short story collections that had other authors stories in them that I wasn't interested in, especially since I need to buy this one to get the awesome Lift novella...

On the technology advancement front... I get it that Sazed has fallen into the trap of Preservation of stagnation, but there may be reasons that Harmony wants the northern Scadrians to develop allomantiaclly because he can see a reason for them to be off world at some point in the future sooner than they would already, and/or to be able to hold their own against southern Scadrians? 

On TLR - I thought one reason was that he could burn the invested Metalmind without swallowing them, as long as they at least pierced his skin

Ordered! The original Legion book is very well put together. Worth every penny, even if it is a short novella. 

Anyone know why he's publishing with Tachyon rather than Tor for this?

I love the idea of an "Ask me about Hoid" shirt, I would totally buy that.

I am ok with Ads (though too many might make page loading hard for some people), donation model is cool too.

Unlike many people, I would be ok with the "premium" membership idea... I love the books and this is the best forum, and the official one, for Brandon's works, so I'd be ok paying an annual membership to keep it a premium site!

Personally I wouldn't buy plushies, but that is just me, I'm sure they would do well w/o me.

At least you now know that we love the book, I know you were a little afraid of what we would think before it was published, at least in other comments I've seen.

It's great fun! I think a well written western with a great "flare" to it.
