But how did that happen?

In our world, people moved to cities despite poor working conditions because pre industrial agriculture was really labor intensive (plus things like crop failures and famines happen, eg migration to US cities after the Irish potato famine).

But we're told several times that crops in the Basin grow basically on their own, the climate is near perfect, etc.

It actually seems like it would be really hard to industrialize there without fairly good working conditions, since the life of a farmer in the Basin would be so easy and pleasant compared to RL.

Spitballing here, I have no evidence but could it be possible there is a monopoly on agriculture in the basin and we are seeing migration toward Elendel for more economic freedom?

Re-reading RoW and in chapter two Kaladin comments how Syl isn’t human or Vorin and doesn’t cover her safe hand. But given how awkward Shallan is about her hand on various escapades, it is fair to assume Kaladin sees Syl as at least a little naked at all times. 
 

I go back and forth on shipping Syladin but it’s kinda funny to think about how Kal just has this half naked fairy friend with him at all times. Especially because she seems to like him romantically, as in the same scene she talks about changing her dress for Kaladin with Adolins advice.

When you say the theory that they are spren (not familiar with it) do you mean spren that have been brought into the physical realm like Ishar’s experiments?

this is my first theory post so please be kind! Sorry if this has been discussed before. I’m soooo confused and Intrigued by the Siah Aimians. This might be out there but what if the Siah Aimians are 5th ideal windrunners? Blue skin, immortal… reminds me of honor spren. What if the fifth ideal fuses (I know probably not the best word) the honor spren with the radiant? I can’t see how much more OP a Windrunner could be past the 4th ideal… but a physical human/spren hybrid could answer that question.
