  1. So, I mentioned it on YouTube, but this might be a better place. There do seem to be sort of animal/proto-spren in Scadrial's subastral. In Secret History Part 3, Chapter 2: Which is really cool. Scadrial seems like it has.less free investiture flowing around than Roshar, but it still has enough to form some sort of investited beings.
  2. That's a good question, I wonder if other godmetals are also good at conducting light, it just so happens that Raysium was the most readily available. Shardblades are made of a godmetal (a mix of Honor and Cultivation's metal depending on the order), but they have a very different cognitive aspect that just pure GodMetal on its own, so that may have interfered with this (especially as dead blades had gemstones infused in their hilt). Perhaps the Retribution's godmetal will have similar properties, or perhaps if you could get enough Lerasium it would too. Also, I feel like a more general-use method of splitting godmetals into their component parts will be found than the method used on Harmonium. It may take a long time to find, but I expect that it'll allow splitting any godmetal into potential component parts (e.g. if Endowment got split into something like "Giving" and "Ownership"). In the interim though, it does seem that there just isn't much in the way of available Raysium to make anti-light daggers work.
  3. Favourite Shard is tough because they're all variations on pretty horrible, but from a purely literary standpoint, it has to be Preservation, the idea of the seemingly "good" god who takes what is often considered a Virtue to the extreme making it comparatively evil. I think it's a theme we're going to keep seeing from the various shards. Least favorite character, the obvious is Moash, but that's the point behind his character so I don't know if that counts, if I have to go by writing, then probably Adien from Elantris, but that also feels like low-hanging fruit. I do like Bagels My Radiant order is Elsecaller I've read all of the Cosmere (incl. White Sand & Aether of Night, but not WoK Prime), Reckoners and Cytoverse. Thanks for all the questions
  4. I've been relatively active in the various subreddits for a while now, but despite having had a 17th Shard account for a couple of years, I never really joined properly. I'm keen to get in and amongst it.
  5. The implication is that the iriali have lived on 3 other planets prior to Roshar, given the tech levels implied in this story (cannons and sailing ships) I believe that this is likely prior to Roshar as we can assume that were soon to be reaching Roshar's Industrial revolution with the rate of technological development we've seen. Spoilers for the preview chapters of the Sixth of the Dusk Sequel
