  1. The man with the knife turned to her with a grunt. "He owes us nine Nort," he slurred, gesturing to the two others sitting at the table with him. "Hess not a good gambler." The man spread a toothless grin/
  2. yes, everyone is at the same tavern. everyone speaks what is functionally their common tongue. you can give him an accent if you want.
  3. yup. Just doing my senior year of highschool. TPBM has homework already
  4. Caelus Entered the tavern just in time to see Nedwin about to get knifed.
  5. @Voidus, I need you to asses an Epicish power. I just need a ballpark idea of how many points it would have. Emulator - can copy the power of any being touched. This is invested powers and epic powers. Can retain up to 5, 1 hr tryout. Allomantic/Feruchemic metals each count as 1 slot. Must be touching Hemalurgic spike to gain the ability it has. Occulator gains the ability to use one lens, but must be touching that lens type and the occulator. No Smedry talents. Nightwatcher boon/bane if applicable, i.e. Lift’s metabolism. However, must copy both boon and bane if can. Only 1 surge, which requires stormlight to function, along the lines of Honorblade use of the stormlight and holding of it. Stormlight reinforcement is part of the surge. Can retain only 1 Aon per slot, and has no innate skill/knowledge of how to draw the Aon. Nightblood is too strong to duplicate, and anything along those lines. Can copy 1 result of BioChroma Heightenings, i.e. Agelessness or Perfect pitch. If taking epic power, weakness of that epic applies to that power, cannot take prime invincibility. Sandmastery- 1 ribbon per slot. Can copy ability to Forge, but has no skill/knowledge in it. Cytonic abilities are the same as A/Fmetals, one per slot. Limited to the ones that keep him in the physical realm - no jumping. (i.e. mindblades and thought-sense yes, FTL travel no.) -essentially has 5 blank slots in his Spiritweb that he can overwrite with “code” taken from others’ Spiritwebs when touching them, granting him an invested ability per slot. He also has has a temporary slot that clears 1 hour after he overwrites it. He can choose to shift the ability from the temp spot to a permanent slot, but does not have to. Doing so clears the temp spot. All abilities first go into the temp slot before overwriting one of the 5 slots. I'm thinking that discounting weakness it's be around 100 or 110 points.
  6. The Stormwarden was accidentally creating them by existing.
  7. Balance woke with a gasp, and surged upwards to his feet. He was at the door to Aln’s room, and he could see Folorian nearby as well. He consciously slowed his ragged breathing and sank into a chair in the hallway. He started speaking before Aln and Folorian had a chance to ask anything. “You know how my framesight works. I’ve explained it. I see everything as the wireframes, everything and everyone except me. I see myself as a normal person. But now…” he shuddered. “Now I see another wireframe when I look at myself. I saw it change, saw my flesh fade into these lines.” He made a frame ball and dismissed it. “Then, whatever or whomever twisted this place out of joint recognized me. Tried to bend me and my lines. I fought back, but it hurt, the lines burning and twisting. That’s when I arrived at your door, Aln, and collapsed. I…” Balance froze, then clutched his chest. A soft keening sound emanated from him. Blue lines streamed from his heart, pointing down the hallway. His golden eyes glowed with a soft blue light. A mixture of fear and rage washed across his face, distorting his features. A moment later, the light and lines faded, the sound stopped, his features went slack, and he slumped in the chair with his head down. “This is not good. Someone in this realm has a device, a-a-a motivator based on my powers. That is unsafe on so many levels for them and me. Especially if they have a way to hook it up to a generator.” He stood abruptly and turned to Aln and Folorian. “I am not safe to be around right now.” He grimaced. “Well, even less so than normally. I’m going to go find that motivator. Whether you come or you stay, thank you for the time together, and the knowledge.” He grimaced again. “I’m not sure which option, staying or coming, would be worse for us all.” With that, he turned and walked slowly and carefully down the hallway towards the front room. @Rushu42 @mathiau

  9. Foklasfag laughed. "Years by which system?" he asked.
  10. This is a horrible thing! The tables must be destroyed! Balance Keepers.
  11. Demaren leaned back in a seat in his lab with a satisfied sigh. Resting on the table in front of him was a small black box with wires leading out of it to various sensors. He hadn’t realized that he had so many of the parts, he was done with Sarian’s lie detector already. It hadn’t been 24 hours since she had ordered it. His eyes strayed to the other device on the table, what looked like a metallic blue belt with a black buckle. He sat up, reached out and snagged it and put it on. It began to glow a faint blue. Nothing happened for a few minutes. Demaren reached down as if to remove it, and light exploded from it. “Gahhhh!” Demaren cried, futilely covering his eyes against the sudden blinding wash of blue light. After a few minutes, his eyes cleared and he looked down. Off of the stump of his leg, the end floating about an inch from the core of his leg, were two wireframe cylinders, followed by a wireframe rectangular prism where his foot used to be. The cylinders were about where his bones used to be. As he watched, more lines appeared, hovering on the outside of his leg and following the cylinders. A familiar pattern of lines and concentric circles appeared, and once it was complete he could move the cylinders and box as he would have his real leg and foot. He grinned, then turned off the device and went to bed. Demaren looked up. from his seat behind his desk. "I have it right here! I had more of the parts than I thought, and was able to put it together over the course of last night and this morning." He smiled gleefully. "Managed to get a breakthrough on some other projects too. Anyway, here's the lie detector and a case for it." he pulled out a small briefcase and pushed it across the desk to Sarian. "That's three more clearmarks, then."
  12. Random Fellow changed the fire to coolfire, which is like the shadow of a flame, not burning or destroying, just giving off light.
  13. Foklasfag gave him an odd look. "I'm not sure if alive is the correct way to describe me. I exist, though. Why do you ask?"
  14. Demaren strapped on the device, which looked like a shoulder pauldron, and it lit up with a soft blue glow. Nothing happened for a few minutes, but then a blue spark appeared by his shoulder, floating an inch from his skin. Light expanded from the spark at his shoulder. Lines seemed to drip from it like paint running down a wall, forming concentric circles at the joints along the arm and two parallel lines along the limbs, supporting and empowering. Spikey runes formed in the circles, describing the joint they hovered over. He grinned. He had finally gotten it working. Motivators were hard, but this had been his primary focus for months. He was one step closer … to a step, he realized with a faint smile, looking down at his missing leg. This was a very good thing. He directed a thought at the machine, and the blue light flared briefly before fading away. He removed the pauldron and locked it in his hidden safe box with his foil soulcaster. Wouldn’t de to have it in the open for the power-hungry to find. - happened the day before Balance the Realizer arrived in the Alleyverse.
  15. The Stormwarden caused a strange crack to sprout in space. this had a ripple effect on the fourth wall.
  16. I would put it on and play pranks on lots of people. What would you do if you found a PhD diploma in your pocket?
  17. Granted. The two sandersons hate each other, and constant arguing delays permanently all further books. I wish to be able to make things bigger.
  18. What should I do with this extraordinarily delicate sculpture? "Not I," said the magic teleporting slug.
  19. take a quick nap. When you have Narcolepsy.

  22. Google images. You can create an image on there easily enough.
  23. "You were not speaking my language," Foklasfag explained patiently. "I am Foklasfag, the admittance officer. How may I help you?"
