Sorry for the double status update but storm it, I'm coming back. I can't take it without you guys and I miss you very much

I was searching and reading through Patrick Rothfuss's blog, and did a double take when I noticed this comment.
It really irritated me, and so of course I had to share.
-
Haha, I just realized that my opinion on this is strongly opposed (and I'd even say very strongly opposed) to the one of the Sharder you linked, but at the same time might be an even hotter take than his.
Won't share it because I respect that you don't want to start an argument over the topic, but I just thought it was funny.

That sounds a bit weird since it sounds like a real name but it's really distant from my actual real name (Tudor).

I guess it would depend what "not mainline" means. If it means "not part of the central plot", then yeah, Yolen doesn't qualify. If it means "not one of the main worlds", then Yolen arguably does qualify (its importance for the cosmere *books* is much lower than its importance for the *cosmere*)
He never explicitly said he won't get to it but he did say he planned on writing it "way after 2030".

Spoiler
At around minute 29:00-33:00
He's basically saying that book 4 is very important to the backstory of a side character from the cosmere, that it's a book that is not in a cosmere mainline, that he's been planning to write for years, that it has the most cosmere relevance of the batch, and that he was worried he might never get the time to writing it. (also around 10 minutes before he said reading "one of the novellas" is useful to one of the books from the secret project. You can see how Dawnshard might help with Dragonsteel)

I just finished this assignment i was soooo stressed about and i feel so good
Tbh i shouldn't have worried about it at all, because half the other kids who were doing it only had, like, half the stuff done lol. But it's always a good feeling when you are done with something stressful.
-
So, when it comes to assignments/presentations/essays/projects, most people I know either finish up early to get it over with, or cram down in the last 2-3 days before the deadline. I'm always surprised that it's hard to find people who do it my way (evenly spread out the work over time). Like... intuitively, I just feel like I should expect this to be more common, no?

In case y'all were wondering, update on that story I mentioned last SU: I'm still having trouble actually writing plot, but I'm having a ton of fun writing the first chapter, which I will put in creator's corner once I finish it. <- I can make emojis tiny now!

*don't read unless you have read Stormlight Archive*
Ok guys, someone is gonna die in Stormlight five and i gotta figure out who. My first guess was that Kaladin was gonna die in a dramatic explosion after swearing the fifth ideal, but then i read something about how Kaladin's arc is all about realizing that he deserves to live and be happy, and you just can't kill someone like that, which made sense to me. But if not Kaladin, who? I just can't imagine that it would make any sense for Shallan to go, and probably not Adolin either. If Dalinar died, that that would probably mean that Odium won, i just can't imagine that Odium winning the duel could work for SA. (Or maybe i'm being presumptuous. Lol.) But whooooo is gonna die? Renarin? Jasnah? Navani? Someone major is gonna die and i just gotta figure it out. Any theories are appreciated lol
Also, should i put this in Stormlight Archive discussion?

Let me just give my full roster predictions:
Dalinar: Is more likely to die or stop being human (by either ascending or becoming Fused) than survive as a human, moderate confidence.
Navani, Szeth: Is more likely to survive, low confidence.
Jasnah, Leshwy: Is more likely to survive, moderate confidence.
Adolin, Shallan, Renarin, Rlain, Venli: Is more likely to survive, high confidence.
Hoid, Rysn, Todium, Kora, Vasher: Is more likely to survive, very high confidence.
Kaladin, Ishar: Is more likely to die, high confidence.

Just to be clear, my prediction isn't that Navani will survive SA 5. My prediction is, if Navani were to die in SA 5 (which could go either way), that on its own would be unsatisfying, so there'd need to be other MC deaths in addition.

I have a very boring prediction here, be ready.
I think Kaladin is gonna die, even accounting for all the arguments made here. While I understand (and *agree*) that his arc is about accepting life and being happy, I see it as an elegant arc topper for Kaladin to be like "I understand why life is joyous now, and I no longer see death as an escape now, but I will sacrifice myself anyway to protect those I love because it is right."
I don't think Navani is gonna be the one dying (or at the very least, not the only one dying or the central plot-driving death) because I don't feel like most of the reader base is sufficiently bonded to Navani for that to be a super satisfying climax.
I don't think Jasnah is gonna be the one dying (in book 5 specifically, I don't mind her dying somewhere in the back five) because she is, from a writerly perspective, a tie between Hoid and Roshar beyond Hoid just being stuck because of Design. Which is pretty useful to stick around. Also Alethkar losing its queen so soon after she imposed her novel policies upon it feels... unnecessarily messy, in a way? Like it's the sort of scenario where it feels unsatisfying if it doesn't receive a lot of screen time, and if it does receive a lot of screen time, well there's better things to have done in book 5.

42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. I have 42 followers. Therefore, my followers are the answer to life, the universe, and everything!
There is nothing whatsoever wrong with this logic.

You must now artificially restrict how interesting you come off as to prevent the 43rd follower from coming in and breaking the balance.
