    A trail of darkness left Everyone's hand and tripped Hunter. "Leave him."

    Everyone scowled at Drozor and pulled up a chair from nowhere, sitting down and waiting. "So... we failed, then?"

    Everyone appeared, looking down at the man. "Drozor Altair...." They whispered. "Wake up, you sod." They said in a mock British accent, a hint of power flowing from their voice towards the man.

    Cardinal frowned. "I don't remember much past being summoned here, but we were all... fighting to save him, right?"

    "Who are you?" A voice asked.

    "Oh. What was he like? Where is he? What happened to him?"

    Cardinal blinked. "... Who's Thaidakar...?"

    Fuzzy walked back in seeming perfectly fine, sat down next to Sequence, and started crying again with her. Even Everyone looked kind of solemn. "Uh..." Cardinal raised his hand. "... Who's journal is this?"

    "Keeping them alive and taking good care of them are two different things, Narrator." Everyone's disembodied voice said.

    "Of course you do." Everyone smirked and vanished.

    Everyone gave Wizard an odd look. "Circumstance."

    Everyone sighed. "Okay then, Narrator." They looked over at Moni, then back at Nameless. "Just remember that she is merely mortal. She's not like you. She can be killed by more than just Mordite. If you want her to stick around, I'd suggest using the gift you've been given for more than pointless duels and wars."

    Everyone crossed their arms. "Believe me when I say that I couldn't care less about people's suffering, but for a mortal, Moni has been through enough trauma. Keep knocking her over and eventually, she won't get back up."

    She hated it nonetheless. The other pulses were terrible, and she had a feeling this one would be too.

    "You know what, nevermind. How do you plan on getting her the character development she needs? That stuff doesn't come easy y'know." Everyone paused for a second. "That stuff usually doesn't come easy." Fuzzy made a sound of distress and dove under the table.

    Everyone shrugged. "She's usually very 'lets-down-to-business' and serious."

    "Well," Everyone said, crossing their arms and looking upwards in thought. "You're both kind of grumpy, you both are basically incapable of having any fun, and you both give off that, 'Grr get out of my way I'm doing something boring and important' vibe."

    "Hm. Makes sense. She's basically just the same thing as you right now, minus the power complex, maybe. Are you going to send her on some kind of impossible quest or something?"

    "What about that earsplitting screech that taught her the secrets of the Universe?"

    Sequence sat there, listening and crying softly. Everyone was there too, listening silently with a blank look on their face. Cardinal wondered who all these people were. He only knew Sequence. The rest were all new to him.

    Fuzzy nodded. "Dragon-fire powered ovens made out of odd metals and edible fireproof-spray do make an odd combo."
