Multiple suggestions in this thread and Reddit that the woman is Vivenna. Have I missed something? How do we know Vivenna is at all prominent or relevant to Stormlight? I've read all the preview chapters, so I'm current.

I think this must be a mistake... Because the first sentence after the preface is "Dalinar remembered."
It's definitely a mistake. They've already fixed it on the page.

I swear every single set of chapters is targeted at exactly what we have been discussing the last week.
It's almost like Brandon is writing a plot or something.

Another possible option for out-of-staters is to track down Brandon at a signing or a convention and ask him about it yourself...
So I'll miss out again, since he never comes to Ohio.

Kaladins chapter was pretty noninformative. I want exposition.
Well...Brandon is trying to tell a story, ya know...

(although I guess it should be PAFO: come to the release party and play and find out )
But not everyone can come to a release party in one specific location of the US...

I'm all on board with the proposed enforcing of this. Long time coming. In my head, the first reporting of WOBs should be in the Events thread. Obviously then people can quote them anywhere they want, but as a semi-lurker, it's very frustrating to know that there are WOBs dropped into separate forums that I don't check every day. I'd almost suggest just going ahead and setting up posts for every Brandon date and then letting posters add their reports to those pre-setup threads.

Thank you for the WOB on Vathi. Missed that.
I think my point regarding Silverlight is that nothing so far proves that it's a city on a planet we've seen before as you posited here (even though you went on to say you think they are two separate groups). I was mainly concerned with the conclusion in sentence 2 leading from sentence 1.
3 hours ago, Pagerunner said:The Ones Above are from a world we've seen before. So, that would mean Silverlight would be a city on a world we've already seen: Sel, Nalthis, Roshar, Scadrial, or maybe Threnody if you stretch. (This WoB was before White Sand.) So, I think they're two separate groups - Silverlight tried to explore in the past, Ones Above managed it in the future.

Brandon has said that Khriss wrote this essay long before the events of Sixth of the Dusk take place. The expeditions being sent by Silverlight are traveling through the Cognitive Realm to First of the Sun and transitioning to the Physical through the Patji's Eye perpendicularity. Where they end up on the hell island that is Patji (no wonder nobody ever returned...)
He's already commented on the timeframe of these essays? (I'm still clinging to Khriss=Vathi, so that helps).

"From a planet we've seen before" doesn't equal "Silverlight is on a planet we've seen before." The Ones Above could be from Scadrial, (for instance) but currently reside at Silverlight, because they are worldhoppers.
Braize has to be the planet with the splinters, right?

Happy for his pocketbook and family, but... Not sure about this for a bunch of reasons: starting with Way of Kings when we are only 2 books into a 10 book series, pretty unknown company, SAW writers?, further drain on BS's time.
Then again, it's just an option at this point so may be years away from anything going on camera.

It being an Aon is itself a little...eyebrow raising. Feels like an odd choice to use that particular one out of the dozens available.

Is a swastika. Where is this from and shouldn't it be changed?

The add-on is a bit disappointing. It's an interesting idea, but much too expensive for what they are. A shame, too, cause a late addition add-on that everyone wants would really pump up those pledges, making the minis and further stretch goals more possible. Hoping they announce more SGs soon and that spurs some on-the-fence people into pledging.

I agree with the idea that Khriss' entrance was very in keeping with her starting out as a somewhat sheltered and pampered duchess. She has the inquistitiveness that would lead her to being the AA Author, but this is just her before anything big happens to her.

Wow, that's interesting. Had no idea they included declines and the end of project gain. Very cool.

Thanks for that analysis. Keep in mind, though, that Kicktraq doesn't really account for the middle-to-end slowdown of most Kickstarters. Granted there will be a big surge at the end when the 48 hour notice kicks in, but Kicktraq just extrapolates based on the current rate.
Things I'd like to see:
- Player mats: for organizing your cards and tokens
- More Problem cards: for more replayability
- Campaign mode: A sequence of Problems that construct a narrative, tied with a new card, Events, that help take you through the story of the first book.

Not mentioned in announcement, but holding out hope for the cosmere star chart and Khriss intros to each planet as non-I-bought-that-ebook-already content.

[OB] Inside cover art!! Finally!
in Stormlight Archive

Hmm, I'd be shocked if the WoB is a hint at "Vivenna will be a major part of Stormlight and warrant a special painting."
That said, Ishar and Shalash make a lot of sense here. The masks could be a nod to the art and beauty aspects of her attributes.
I can also see Honor and Cultivation, though. At least, these being religious paintings of those two in idealized human forms.
