    MR64 Cycle Two: A Crimson Stain “What am I doing… He’s… just a kid. No. No. It must be done.” Jormmuthar heard the voices through a haze, dimly aware of what they meant; of what his assailant might do to him. He couldn’t bring himself to concentrate. Wake up. Focus! He tried to edge away, but found he was tied to a chair. He reached for the knife he kept at his belt. It was missing. Of course, he thought. He… he wanted to… His consciousness was slipping away again. He tried to make a plan, to focus his vision on anything but the figure walking towards him, holding a knife. He kicked forwards desperately, with no real goal in mind, and the person cried out, dropping to the floor. His training rushed back to him; he tried to reach for the knot in the ropes tying him to the chair, but found that he couldn’t reach. Failing that, he began to scream, as loud and as long as possible. The attacker cursed, scrambling onto their feet and reaching for their knife. Jormmuthar tried to kick at them again; they were more careful this time, though, coming around from the back. The last thing Jormmuthar thought before his mind slipped away was that he really, really wished he was sleeping. * Lazy Bones had lived a good, long, life. He’d seen all he’d wanted to see; done all he’d wanted to do. Thus, he wasn’t fazed when a mob, armed with pitchforks and torches and all the works, showed up at his cottage one evening, confronting him as he sat on his rickety old chair, scowling at a tree. He had opinions on all the trees in his yard; he particularly hated this one. “All ya young whippersnappers need ta get off my lawn,” he said. One man at the head of the mob came forward. “What are you hiding, Lazy Bones? You let the forters in here, and now the bartender’s missing, and the boy is dead.” That was remarkably unfair; he wasn’t in charge. The homestead leader decided who went in and out, not him. “Get off mah lawn.” He closed his eyes and took one last breath of fresh air as the man’s pitchfork speared through his chest, warm blood forming a crimson stain on his shirt.     No, sorry. My original intent was to make the rounding unclear, so I’ll stick with that. @Amanuensis Fighters can injure the same person twice in a row. And two fighters can assassinate someone by targeting them on the same cycle. Edit: @Archer I’ll explain what happened with the knife distro after the game. I want to limit meta-analysis based on that as much as possible.
