Kazh turned himself into a flame person with one of his spells, then went to help wrestle the lifegiver. Or help light that fancy-dancy propane tank flying towards the lifegiver. One of those options was significantly more attractive, and it was the one that involved the most fire.

"All of them." Her face tightened in anger.

"So you're after motive, not just allegiances. Me? Why should I tell you?" Her eyes narrowed. The crystal shot up around her and she jumped, then tried to make hereself as small as possible. "You make a very compelling argument. However, I really don't like negotiating from extremely threatening positions. Drop the spikes and I'll talk to you." "Noted." Rosalin walked off. Torch fell silent for a few moments, gathering his thoughts. "They usually don't have any operatives in the city, and if they do, it's just an in-and-out info mission. To find them, you could try walking up and down streets and looking like you know stuff, but try not to look too much like an Epic or they'll ignore you, hide, or shoot first and forgo asking questions, probably from a secluded sniper nest."

"Probably. Here, nightfall. Got it. Anything in particular you want me to find out? Besides the usual stuff, I mean."

"How long until we should meet up again?"

"I'll take him to Gramps." Kazh picked Ji up and started walking.

"Oh, ok." Kazh thought for a moment. "Wait no that was hypothermia. Don't listen to me."

"Should Ji be allowed to sleep? Yes, it wasn't a blunt trauma head wound, but we still don't know what exactly happened."

"Can Ji walk? Ji, can you walk?" Kazh retrieved his other knife, cooled it, and sheathed it.

Kazh picked up his overheated knife, cancelled the structured fire on it, cooled it, and sheathed it.

Kazh handed him the knife. "I want it back."

Kazh dropped the knife on the ground and drew his other knife, heating it slower this time. "Tell me when to stop."

He shoved flame into his knife as fast as he could, and cast flaming weapon just for good measure. The knife was glowing in seconds. As he heated the knife, he spoke. "I could stab him in the exact same spot to stop the internal bleeding or I could just try to burn the surface shut. Which?"

Kazh looked down at the bandage wad and drew one of his knives. "I could cauterize that maybe."

I recognize two of those names.

Bug dropped to the floor in a place nobody could see her, curiosity overcoming fear. This conversation sounded interesting, but Crystallix's methods were strange, and she wanted to poke at the rock and see what hid underneath. "I'm only talking to you now because you seem reasonable, and not stark raving mad like some others I've seen. Earlier you mentioned wanting to know more about the Epic politics of this city. Why send your men as messengers with a message to join or die? Why not ask the Nons? That's what most of us did, and their information was almost always accurate."

You watched him get stabbed and you didn't do anything? According to my calculations, it should be perfectly safe. *explosion* ...I may have forgotten to check my work.

"What's in the sewers?" Rosalin asked. Ricochet realized why everyone was running. He was obviously an Epic, with his whole self turned into something far more durable than flesh. He mentally rolled his eyes at himself and released the transformation. After that it was easy to find a person who would talk to him. "I'm new here. Are you willing to tell me of the current Epic politics of this city? Epic territories, places to avoid like the plague, stuff like that?"

You should post them more separately so I can give you more rep because they're all super awesome. Definitely no ulterior motives... except that ^^ one...
