Boys. Not ONLY boys, but... Boys.
Scout_Fox replied to Channelknight Fadran's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Hey that's really cool then! It's awesome that you have found a use for it especially with an author who you enjoy! That's cool that he writes that way as well, do you think he's doing it for stylistic preference, so only a select few can read it, or just to honor the tradition of it? (or none of these lol ) -

Dangit it was going so well!!! Lmao that's actually kinda tragic if they're gonna do that wouldn't it just make more sense to to learn the new rules cuz it would actually be useful??? Rip -

You know thats honestly alright though I do tend to think Im pretty good at my punctuation my sentences are always really easy to follow and clear as well in addition to that I always make sure Im using apostrophes where theyre needed therefore I really think I have nothing to worry about here obviously I got this one.... (if Brian made explosion I sincerely apologize let him know is much sorry ) Idk I feel like the uber-rich of any culture can develop this tendency. It could also very well be due to religious (or maybe a strong subset of cultural???) values, absolutely! Nahhh I wouldn't think that if anyone I'd say it would be Americans blazing in there ignoring cultures and being rude and all that lol Edit: Oh and that second part.... BIG BRAIN I want to meet this person -

Ohhh like "you had left by then." You had done it before that point in time that you were referring to. Interesting, interesting much grammar. lol me when talking about something new in a different language: "Well... it seems about right so let's hope so " That's actually interesting to hear about too! I've heard (although who knows how reliably or if I was even listening close enough lol) that Chinese is more complicated because of all the different ways you have to emphasize the words. Do you think so too or am I making stuff up over here?? Dang... that's interesting. To be fair tho the US kinda does that too with dress codes and stuff for fancy clubs and restaurants idk, huh -

Yeeeee this stuff is always what I thought made it difficult Lol I know, I know Brian is just more entertaining. And that is totally understandable, idk just feels like sometimes people might feel much oofers at it Huh interesting, interesting. What makes the reading easier? (And we have 3 tenses??? [jk but like kinda not idk I don't think about English rules per say I just do it]) -

Condensation!! It was close enough cut Emi some slack I think it's amazing that people even want to learn English and do their best to speak and write it well. It's ridiculously hard and confusing and impressive people even want to learn. And I confuzzle... if Brain explodes when seeing grammar mistakes then how do you have the Brian left over to correct??? WHAAA?? Really?? I always hear people saying how hard it is to learn idk I was just basing it off that. Maybe not the hardest but some of the rules are just like bruh why you gotta do this to me Yeee like this Edit: Ok @Emi you win lmao.. yikes -

Exactalactly much, much agreedness! Deliberate use of it also can convey a less serious mood to let people know you are joking. Condensation's just making sure we are prepared for an attack by grammar zombies Ight thx fam catchu lter -

But... it's Google. Lol it does list it as informal and some dictionaries do not list it including Merriam-Webster true but if you check the New Oxford American Dictionary it is listed (if you have a Mac it is the default dictionary application, can also look it up in the online version) Collins English Dictionary also lists the full version as correct but doesn't list the abbreviated Yeah it's just faster to type lol I'm always like eh close enough -

Huh that's super interesting too yeah that makes sense! You want to be current so that you can talk and discuss with people in the now and feel more connected. SO it makes sense that things that are more classic could be not as appealing unless it became a bigger part of popular culture like it did in the US. Wow learn more everyday thank you both for the answers! Google says it's fine Lmao why did I fall for this you got me -
More answers yay!! I think this is becoming one of the most informative about me's yet . Ok, Alloy of Law, huh, I like it. SO, most re-read Cosmere book does fit! Hmm yeah letting Elhokar live would have made for an interesting plot twist, good choice! You wonder what he would have been able to accomplish had he lived... Alright, there definitely were a few new questions that came up I agree. At the same time tho it is setting it up for another novel which will hopefully be as, if not even more, amazing! Like this one the best lol! I would choose Syl as well she definitely seems the most engaging and interesting. This might be partly because we've seen more of her but at the same time idk her personality and view of the world is quite fun and upbeat. She seems like she would make a great Spren to bond with! Alrighty well if we did have an information quiz I think you passed, wow! Nice to have you here and hope you enjoy your time! Welcome to the Shard!

HUH, interesting, interesting. Yeah that would make sense. If there's no access to the movies it doesn't become a large part of the culture. And I think a large part of the success of Star Wars here was that it became a part of many different generations and the love of it was passed down to each. Because each set of movies came out for like a different generation sorta kinda it grew to become a cultural love of it. That's super interesting thank you! And then Avengers yeah now, as things have modernized, there's more access so it can be a bigger part of a culture. And since it is happening more NOW there is more discussion and advertising so there is a larger access pool and desire to be interested. Also can't forget the role improved access to technology and ads/social media might play as it allows it to become more prevalent in the society especially with modern advertising techniques. WOW thank you for that was not at all expecting to be recognizing and challenging my own biases while discussing Star Wars. The more you know... Edit: And The One Ring please add on if you have anything. Might not check for a bit but I will when I come back -

WOAH this is actually super interesting for me my Western mindset bias was just totally going off here thinking all like "oh yeah it's super popular because it's popular here" and not even thinking about that very interesting! I would be quite curious for The_Truthwatcher's answer. And The One Ring do you think there is a specific reason why Avengers (which you should totally watch btw it's awesome ) is more popular where you live or is it just because? I'ma be sure to check this next time I can lol super, super interested -
Absolutely! It will always be there! And yeah that's actually a really good choice I had completely overlooked him but he's perfect for it, nice thinking. He definitely is like the Dad of the group tbh always looking out for everyone and caring for them lol he would make a great friend. And if you two like cooking I like eating y'all just let me know and I'll be there

That sounds perfect! Good choice!! Any chance I could join??? Aww, so glad it made you smile! It's always so nice to get a warm welcome to somewhere new so I try my best to fill these with as much good welcomeness warm-fuzzies as possible! And now for the obligatory welcome-but-now-we-must-make-you-feel-bad-cuz-that's-what-makes-you-feel-welcome, the mods discourage posting multiple times in a row (as Darkfinder said). Instead, make one GIANT post that takes up so much screen real estate your fingers go numb scrolling through it. You can quote multiple people by clicking the + icon next to the "Quote" button for all the people you want to quote. You could also just press "Quote" type something, then press "Quote" for the next person, type something, and so on. Example of a second (or more) quote(s) here just for kicks: (tis a joke btw.. just in case )

Welcome to the Shard! What's your favorite worl-... What's your favorite serie-... What's your favorite charac- ... Man you people always so prepared when you join! Gotta give us something to ask about c'mon Lol glad to have you here! I'm sure I can think of something you haven't answered here give me a sec.... Ok as thorough as that list is I don't know that you ever actually answered favorite book??? I mean most re-read is basically it but technically.... lol Ok I gotta say, YESSSS! I applaud!! This was me and it honestly sparked my interest in Sanderson. Even tho they are YA targeted, I was just like these are so completely original and hilarious I have to read more by this guy! Easy upvote lol Ok and I have some more advanced level questions here since you placed out of like every single normal one you darn overachiever!! - If you could change one event in the history of the Cosmere, which would you choose? - If you could create an alternate ending to any of Brandon’s books, which would you choose and what would it be? - Out of all the Spren we have seen so far, who would you most desire to have bonded you? Feel free to answer all or none lol just giving you something! Hope you enjoy your time here and welcome to the Shard!

Smart, smart I like this thought process right here . Joining for Aether and staying for the content I think means we succeeded. See the only problem is now we've trapped you into discussing Sanderson work for the rest of eternity (jkjk... unless ). lol, glad to have you here! Finishing SA before RoW is a MUST. Just forsake all future plans for like a few days. Trust me everyone is always super understanding and supportive of your needs (sometimes... yeah yknow maybe don't take me up on this). We love to have new friends here to talk to as well! Is most definitely a much good warning, 10/10 would recommend. Most times tho stuff is sorta kinda labelled if it has spoilers but the threads on the individual books are a definite no-no if you haven't read them. It's like trying to cut open a pack of glitter with a knife, if you don't want to deal with glitter for the next 4 weeks, don't open it. Easy. As far as languages... wow. Forget Google Translate I'm just gonna bring you along next time I go anywhere! All in all tho, glad to have you here, hope you enjoy your time, and welcome to the Shard!

YES!! The first time I saw it I was like WOAH, this woulda been epic. Honestly tho it's half the effects but also half the advanced lightsaber movement. The OG trilogy lightsaber action seemed really just a melancholy hit on one side hit on the other side type of stuff it felt like they coulda done a lot more with it. The more advanced and action packed dueling scene here really makes it more interesting! lol @Truthless of Shinovar it was all in strikethrough for a sec and I was like wait a minute... rip mobile
