"Oh, it's like a really, really big bow that can't move. It would probably be good to defend against big flying things like dragons and griffins.

"That's what I'm wondering as well! But for now, I'm using this," she says, waggling the feather, "to find the first Artifact." She grabs one of the empty shot glasses setting it in front of her and scooping a small amount of her cauldron mud out from the pit using her fingers and plops it into the glass. She then takes the feather and dips it in, a quiet pop ringing out as it dissolves and disappears. The mud then begins to slide over the bottom of the glass, clinging to the side and assumedly pointing towards the Artifact.

"That sounds like a good idea. But I feel like we need walls. Big ones. Maybe some ballista. But there aren't many walled cities today, and there's even fewer ballista, let alone people who know how to use one."

Spade grabs it out of her hand and reads it carefully.

"You would be surprised. Anyways, we would be happy to have you along. The more the merrier! Haha!"

Spade turns to Xinohehp. "Well, where were you fighting? And with and against who?"

"I guess, but where would we even start?"

"Oh, how wonderful! Tell me, what can you contribute to our little team here, eh?" "Oh, he's probably just trying to restore them like we are, unless he's part of some sort of apocalypse cult, ha!"

"I see. So, where shall we start?"

"Yeah, I don't think this small a group could do anything to stop that. I mean, this is a preferable civilization-ending event to a nuclear holocaust or a climate disaster- lots less people die, and now there's cool creatures and I assume human-usable magic. I wonder if wizards and other such things exist now?"

"Oh, no, voodoo's completely different from what I do. It's far closer to water than mud, being so life-related. Anyways, it seem like you're going to have to take a risk, eh?"

"Well, honey, we need to find the Artifacts, but as no one knows where they are, that's not going to be easy. Fortunately for us, however, I have THIS." She sets down her cauldron with a loud thump- and it's filled to the brim with a thick brown mud. "Took me a century and a half to collect all of this. It's mud so perfectly attuned to it's element that it's extremely magically charged- but, add just a little of another element, and reacts violently, making all sorts of fun effects. So, this, plus a tiny bit of the guiding energy of Air, and it'll point us straight towards the Artifact of Mud. After we fix that one, I have no idea how we'll find the other ones, but we'll figure that out when we get there, eh?"

"Barabantha. So, what useful skills do you have, hmmm?"

"Uh, that's good I suppose."

"Oh, one or two. I had to get some Merfolk scales this one time to flood an annoying noble's carriage, and then there was this other time where the Artifacts were disturbed and I had to team up with a hotshot lady with wings and this arrogant and quite nosy adventurer, and maybe some other people." She pauses for a moment, seeming to wait for a response, before suddenly speaking again. "Oh, wait!"

"Oh, The word 'adventure' is so arbitrary, don't you think? I mean, every moment is its own little adventure, with its own destination and journey, friends and enemies."
