  1. Early on in RoW (spoilers!!) :

    Spoiler

Mraize implies to Shallan that it would be very difficult for a Knight Radiant of Roshar to world hop, and the more Invested they are, the harder this would be, since their investiture somehow tethers them to their home solar system.

I'm confused about this on two points I guess 1) is this a problem specific to Roshar (I'm assuming it is, because Vasher seems fine), and if so, why? and 2) If every form of Investiture is fundamentally linked to a planet, why would a Rosharan Knight especially have trouble with this? Like how was Vasher able to world hop and stay in his alive, very Invested body, but a Knight would be unable to?

  2. It’s been a while since I’ve read the rest of the Stormlight books, plus I zoomed through RoW because I am impatient, and haven’t done my reread yet, so forgive me if this question is silly: how precisely do the fused body hop again? Like are they able to just forcefully eject their soul and then enter the body of any singer anywhere, using void light?

I’m asking because in particular, the pursuer’s frequent body jumps seems odd to me, since wouldn’t that mean every time his soul jumps into a new body, he’d be seizing a random nearby parshendi body, and immediately using his surge w that body? Number 1, I’m just wondering how this is convenient, I feel like you’d lose time if there was no nearby body, and number 2, I can’t believe the parshendi are okay with this....kind of existentially horrifying fact that your soul can be ejected from your body at a moment’s notice if a Fused needs a body. They’re definitely not manifesting their own bodies, right?

    Welcome! What's your favorite book?

I’d have to say Emperor’s Soul, even though it’s a novella! Something about it gripped me and it’s so well written

It’s hard to say, but maybe Lightsong? I tend to bias towards more recent rereads, however, and I just finished Warbreaker, so I’m sure it’ll change once I start my Mistborn rereads

  4. Hey! super new to this forum ^_^

I first got into Cosmere whenever I was pretty young (maybe 11-13?) because my older brother liked the books. Now I've started rereading all the cosmere books again in preparation for ROW and wowwww am I super into things again. It's so amazing how this entire universe is fleshed out enough and has a big enough fanbase that I can ask inane questions like "but can you transfuse soulcast blood into a person" and get a real answer lol

I didn't think very many were born afterwards?  I thought Syl was one of the youngest, and she still lived before the recreance.

I think it would be a pretty easy case to make to the honorspren though.  Like "hey look, we already know the truth and we didn't abandon our oaths.  In fact we have new people swearing every day."

Iirc, Syl is actually fairly ancient for an honorspren. She was super young right before the recreance, and fortunately for her her Knight died, leaving her unattached whenever the recreance happened and killed her brethren. She then went into a coma and was found thousands of years later by the Stormfather. So she's mentally young because of her coma, but actually very old.
