    "Starfleet?" Martin asks, forcing himself to stop rubbing his wrist. "No. There's the Asian Continental Space Force, but that's it. Maybe this has something to do with how strange everything here is?"

    "Where's that?" Martin asks. "There aren't any ships that go by that name, though it has been a few years since I was on one." He rubs his thumb against his left wrist nervously.

    "Got that right," Martin murmurs. He clears his throat. "Ah, a spaceship? You're from one of the hauler fleets then?"

    "Well, of course. Say - " Martin frowns. "You look vaguely familiar somehow. Have we met?"

    "Some of them," Martin says absently, hugging his jacket closed. "There's a few who are talking normally, but they talk to the sky."
