  1. "And what if..." Mike took a breath. "What if you could manipulate the threads of time that are intertwined within my magical energy?"
  2. "Please." Michael begged. "Why do you even need the energy?"
  3. "It is not as...limited as you may assume."
  4. "Nearly unlimited magical energy. That's what you want, isn't it?"
  5. "No, no, no, no, no." Michael sunk to his knees. There was nothing he could do. "Please, I'll do anything. Just...leave Erin alone.
  6. "No!" Mike grabbed Erin's, or whatever this thing was, wrist and willed all of her magical energy to transform into restoration. "If I can't get rid of you, I'll get rid of the magic you want."
  7. "No...no. You can't. You can't. What have you done with Erin? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH ERIN!?"
  8. "You- you're not Erin... Wha- what are you?"
  9. Mike was still crying. "Erin, what happe-" he broke into sobs. "I'm so glad you're okay."
  10. Mike started, then immediately reached out and touched them. He willed as much magical energy as he could find to heal Erin as quickly as possible. "Oh shades oh shades oh shades"
  11. Mike broke down into a mumbling mess, obviously in shock. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no..."
  12. Mike cried out in shock. "No!" He rushed over to Erin's broken body. "No no no no no" Tears began to rush down his face. "No, Shades, no, no, no, no."
  13. Mike stood up, slightly unsteady on his feet. "If I can touch you before you hit the ground, I'll be able to keep you healed."
  14. "How high up are you?"
  15. "Erin? Are you okay?" Mike groans again as the bones finish shifting in his body.
  16. Mike cried out in shock as Erin disappeared. What a stupid way to die. Mike hit the ground and bones crushed in his body. Pain like he hadn't felt in years. It took an agonizing minute to heal completely; a minute where he wished he was dead. He lay there, his nerves still telling him his bones had been mashed into paste. The overload in his brain hurts almost more than the impact. Finally, Mike is able to breathe and a groan escapes from his lips.
  17. "My past has come back to haunt me. And I need answers."
  18. "That's not why I'm here." Elsie turned her gaze upward, but kept an eye on Saffron to make sure he didn't try anything rash.
  19. Mike's instinct took over and he grabbed Erin. He wrapped his arms around them and began to gather magical energy within them to heal upon impact. What the Shades is happening? They fell for what felt like a minute before nearing the bottom of the canyon. It probably wasn't that long.
  20. Of the whole wide world?
  21. Mike felt like a dagger had been pierced into his heart. Something is wrong. Something is...off. "What changed, Erin?"
  22. Elsie spares a moment to reply. "Saffron, please stop. This is...more important than these games. And remember, I'm the one with the spear."
  23. "Erin, what are you doing?" Mike's voice was more than concerned. He stepped on between them and the edge.
  24. Mike stood frozen for a moment before racing over to Erin and grabbing her hand. "What?"
