  1. What if a full powered Mistborn such as Rashek, or perhaps even Vin or Elend, uses the mental and/or emotional powers of Allomancy while going up against Taln or any other herald? Would soothing or rioting be beneficial against them in such a contest? Also, if there was enough atium for the Mistborn to use, how helpful would that be for them?

  2. I predict that Wax would win, especially if he is also using firearms. Kaladin is my favorite Stormlight character, and Wax is my favorite character from Scandriel. I would be betting on Wax to win because of his excellent combination of Allomancy and feruchemy. I am pretty sure that the levels of skill AND strength of power from Wax's allomancy combined with his iron feruchemy is stronger than the lashings from Kaladin, even though he is a 5th ideal Windrunner. For betting odds, I would give Wax a 60% chance of defeating Kaladin. However, that advantage swings VERY heavily into Kaladin's favor if my favorite Windrunner turns the fight into a close quarters melee battle.

I've gotten so used to the unpredictable, brilliant endings to Sanderson books that I was hugely disappointed with this one.  At any time in the last 5,000 years they could have turned Odium loose and let the other shards deal with it.  Just the threat to turn him loose should have united the shards, even without giving it the second shard.

I admit I don't know all the intricacies that so many posters here are aware of.  Nevertheless, my opinion now is that Brandon struggles with the all-powerful, see-all gods' point of view.

I'd like to think this all part of Cultivation's master plan, which we haven't realized yet.  Hard to think it could be so short-sighted as to replace stupid Rayse with genius Taravangian, knowing the shard would eventually corrupt.

    Other things I don't understand-

Why did Honor go from unspeakable hatred toward Odium to paring up with it in such a short time?  Hard to believe Dalinar's brief hosting convinced it to do so.

Why couldn't all the other see-all shards (except Harmony and maybe Autonomy) have seen this possibility and stopped it before it happened?

I suppose once Odium was released from his oath and became Retribution, it was free to vaporize Wit.  Why stop there?  It could vaporize anyone throughout the Cosmere.  Why does it need armies?

How does Honor reconcile his nature with Odium's desire to conquer the galaxy and destroy the rest of the shards?  The original agreement was to all stay away from each other.

Why do the other shards need five more books to unite and wipe out Retribution?    Actuarily, I'll be dead by the time book 10 is published so I'm not buying anymore of them.

The worst this is: this is exactly what Odium asked Dalinar to do in book 4. He literally ask Dalinar to free him and let the rest of the cosmere to deal with him, but Dalinar refused because it’s supposedly bad and irresponsible to burden others with your problems. It took 1500 pages for Dalinar to make full 180. All events of the last to books are now pointless and everyone who died in those books died in vain

I completely agree. Winds and Truth was a complete disappointment for me. I really enjoyed the first 4 books, and I have enjoyed all of the books in the Mistborn world. However, at the age of 60 years old, I cannot wait until 2033 for the next Stormlight Archive book to be published. Even if I decided that I wanted to wait that long, I doubt that I would buy the next SA book. Sanderson's WaT book ruined the Stormlight Archives for me.

I'm going with Stormqueen, since Kaladin describes her that way:

"She glanced at him, and as she did, he saw a storm in her eyes. Not a metaphoric one, but actual lightning and swirling clouds, filling them. In a moment, she wore something very different. A regal gown, fit for … for a queen."

So yes, I think she inherited the Stormfather's role. I think that was something intentional on his part, and I think that there's a possibility that the Highstorm and Stormlight will return when she does.

I like the title of StormQueen the best for Syl, and I think that the rest of your post hits the nail right on the head.

Do the other Heralds know that Odium is now Taravangian? I know Szeth and Kaladin left before Wit figured out Rayse had been replaced, but I can't remember whether Nale and/or Ishar and/or the Wind figured it out and told them.

If they do know, they may have reason to suspect Battar because of her previous connection to Taravangian. Otherwise, why would they suspect her?

That is a great question. Frankly, I have no idea what the answer might be. I would love to read what everyone else on these forums might think about that.

  6. I also want to see just how long a pacifist surgeon like Lirin will  be able to keep faithful to his personal moral code in a time of global war. I think it would be fascinating and entertaining if Lirin is able to remain a pacifist, despite the horrors of war that he is experiencing and will continue to experience.

  7. I laughed my butt off with the 3rd Meme you posted. I ain't any good at making Memes, but I do look forward to enjoying the humor and creativity y'all who are going at doing Memes.

I haven't seen anyone point this out yet, but the fact that Shallan is a Lightweaver certainly makes this decision mysterious. Cryptics and honorspren do NOT like each other, so it seems like a very odd choice. Maybe it has something to do with @KandraAllomancer's point? What if Shallan has to disguise Pattern as an Inkspren for the mission?

There's all kinds of possible trouble that Shallan and Adolin, with Pattern and Maya, can run into inside Shadesmar. Maybe the reason they are being sent into Shadesmar is because Adolin is Dalinar's son and Jasnah's cousin. I think that negotiating with the honorspren means that humans are going to need someone with the authority to speak for both Dalinar and Jasnah.

Sorry, atium isn't one of the 16 so it's not an option.

Alright. Sorry about that, I guess my desires there are higher than my reach. I thought I could use atium as one of the metals because many of Elend's soldiers were able to use atium as mistings in Hero of the Ages. Okay, out of the 16 available now after Mistborn Era 1, I choose steel. Of all of the external physical mistings, I Like Coinshots the best because of the flexibility of different uses for Steel that an experienced Coinshot has at his disposal.

Windrunner is very present for some reason. It seems very easy to get that one - while Bondsmiths (and Dustbringers) seem to be much harder. I wonder if that is intentional and is meant to represent how many Knights the Orders usually had, with Windrunners having the most members and Bondsmiths having the fewest.

I like that line of reasoning. It really makes a lot of sense to me.
