Ammon looked up, blood covering his hands, and saw Kacen. "He's dead," he stated, tossing down the gun. "They always die. They have to sacrifice themselves for everyone else. I didn't even know him that well," he said, laughing coldly. "But it doesn't matter. They never stop to think what it will do to everyone they knew. Because every time someone dies, everyone with them, the ones that might have cared even a little bit, they are affected. It's not for the greater good if it doesn't help the ones you care for." He doesn't seem to be talking about Venten anymore. "Because you're just abandoning them. Abandoning everyone, ruining all the good you've done."
