This is a theory that i have for S5, having not read the sample chapters. I’m curious to see what others have to say on it.
If Odium wins the contest but kills the stormfather and causes endless weeping which floods Kharbranth, it would break the oath Odium made to Taravangian. This would make Odium susceptible from other shards. However, now that Taravangian holds Odium, would he be susceptible to himself? Would Taravangian be able splinter Todium? What if the Diagram saw Taravangian taking up Odium and had him make the oath with Odium over Kharbranth in expectation that Taravangian would be able to splinter a weakened Todium?
If this were to happen, S5 could end with Odium being splintered and other characters (Moash) taking up splinters, and then the back half focusing on defeating this new enemy. My main concern with this theory is that Odium has been set up as the big bad force in the Cosmere and this seems to be taking him out of the picture too easily.
