Second knocks back the minor side character again.

"Exactly. That's why the best actors, they want to become Not-actors. People who don't need to pretend, but can still be more than one character." The Second said, "I am not an actor. I am a puppet. An asset. So I do not need to mimic anything, or anyone."

    "Okay. So who's puppeteering you?"

Amyra Ay looked around. Damn it.

She quickly crouched down to the hot sand quickly as an arrow sailed over her head.

She shoved her gift into her pocket and sprinted through the chasm, going through unknown, smaller corridors until she found a clear area, without any other tributes or animals. It was open on both sides, allowing an immediate escape if needed. She couldn't be cornered. No one was in sight. She looked up at the intimidating cliffs around her.

Okay, I guess we're doing this.

She rolled her eyes and found an area that sloped a bit more than the rest. She grasped the ledges and pulled herself up, climbing to reach higher ground.

Food. I need to find food, water, and my allies.

Amyra Ay was approaching the top of the cliff.

    Just. Don't. Slip.

She could see much more now. No one was in sight, but she heard a few fierce animals in the distance.

Sharp turned and ran down the nearest chasm, searching for his squire. @Channelknight Fadran

As he ran he looked for small pebbles and stones on the ground.

"Oh, god... it's already so much worse than I imagined."

"Hm? A core?" Second made this laughing sound. "I don't have one. So either that is fake, or that is your own core."

Second gestured to the skies above. "I am a puppet. I get my energy externally."

Second looked at Zodiac, then said, "I think you should put your heart back in. After all, you could survive without it. But it wouldn't be pleasant. Microorganisms can inhabit it, causing major damage to organ functions. Energy, when uncontained can split off and form subfaults, or subschisms, where it devours physical space to crease a slash fold universe. In the end, a puppet's corpse is negilable compared to the slow deterioration of that organic shell of yours."

"Ah, well... I was curious." Zodiac tossed the core away. "And I did collect it from you, though it seems you don't need it. I figured that might be the case. Tell me, Puppet - what exactly have you chosen to mimic?"

"Show me what you're made of, Zodiac." Second said, then charged at Zodiac with unusual speed.

"Oh, goodness. That would take way too long. I mean... you're like a body double, right? Does that mean you know your own chemical structure?"

They were holding Second's core now - it was a strange mixture of old heart tissue, dark red metal, seeping oil, gleaming blue vapors... it dripped down across their hand like an ooze. When Zodiac had collected it was unclear.

"Well, do. I'd be fine without a core for a little while, but I dunno about you. Did you know that without exposure to energy, organic tissue will cannibalize itself in a chaotic frenzy for survival? All corpses become cancerous, before the tumors die off as well, unable to maintain their shape... and thus the cycle continues. Sometimes bacteria or amoebae or fungus will conquer the remaining energy supply for a time, but sooner or later the body is gone."

There was an odd twinkle in their eye. Probably because Penn had doodled it there.

"Yours happens to be quite demanding."

  5. "That's a little concerning."

    Should I take over?

    ..."A little concerning."

    Awww, c'mon. I'm so   b o  o        o     o r e d

Man, give it a break. You've only been here for... what, three weeks?

    ...Oh, great.

"Oh. Great." Zodiac's arm reached out into a twisted vine, wrapping about the doppleganger and squeezing its innards out in a burst of purple goop. "And yes; you've only been here three weeks. Get used to it."

  6. Quote

The Duplicates would be missing a very fundamental part of Zodiac's powers, such as [REDACTED] and access to [DATA EXPUNGED]

...but they probably could mimic his more innately-attuned powers, such as limited teleportation, flight, shape-shifting, strength, etc; to him, it wouldn't be anything noticeable.

Cloud reached out with his mind towards the others. He could feel their minds easily as before. Was he supposed to be reaching further?

Nayla was a little calmer today. Before she might've flinched a little at Cloud's unfamiliar Presence, but not now. And... he seemed more comfortable too.

    [Yes again.]

Sounds echoed from the left, ressembling war cries. Screams resonded from the right. A mysterious voice (that sounded like if darth vader and general grevious shared a voice actor) said, "Pick a side! Only one is right!"

    "That... well, yes."
