  1. "Only the ones who actually pose a legitimate threat to my reign."
  2. "Ugh. I hate that place."
  3. "Uhh... report on the other Narrators. Y'know... like Shard of Thought? Those guys?"
  4. "Don't worry. With luck, we won't have to do it anymore for a while."
  5. "Sorry. But would you have rather walked?"
  6. Selil nodded appreciatively, then grabbed Elgiloy and teleported them both back to their Fortress of Darkness. He hoped that the gladiator wouldn't be too bored sitting there alone in a deserted plot of land that had once housed an entire workshop. "Sorry, El, but today's not when we're having the final battle."
  7. Selil reappeared behind Aretheus, kicking him in the back right above the tailbone. "Don't tell me that this minion of yours is somehow going to save you. Elgiloy, care to join me?"
  8. "Fadran does that all the time. He's almost addicted to it, I think. And Iode, and my mother, and... everyone." Ayia pulled out of the hug, hands resting on Martin's shoulders. Her head was bowed, and her face was contorted into a broken scowl of grief. "They don't understand that they're leaving us behind. I trusted them all to be there for me. I trusted them to have my back. And then they just go die and leave me behind!"
  9. Still holding Blade to the ground, Selil squeezed harder, summoning in dark mists to envelop them both. "You're impressive, I admit," Selil said, "but still far from rivalrying the likes of me."
  10. "I... you know how laying down your life for someone else is something heroes are doing all the time?"
  11. "Ow! Hey!" Selil growled, then grabbed Blade by the throat and slammed him to the ground.
  12. Selil, Dark Lord of the Thousand Conquered Realms, directly countered Blade's actions.
  13. I wouldn't try to escape. Ellis said, glaring. You're out of your league.
  14. Selil shot an amused glance at Elgiloy. "I like this one. Just destroy the shop, but don't harm her." @Shard of Thought
  15. "Not evil enough, I'm afraid." "Oh, I'm not going to slaughter her now."
  16. "When I first met you, I could see a haunted past in your eyes." Ayia blinked a small tear down off her eyelid. "Could you see one in mine?"
  17. "Yeah, well, by 'likes of you,' I mean not-bad people. The kind of people us dark lords spend our free time trying to slaughter."
