  1. "By the time they find it, we'll be long gone. They can't trace it to anywhere but here."
  2. "No. It won't. And you don't get to decide if it does."
  3. "That won't be necessary."
  4. "The plan accounts for being detected in the first place. Even if we can disguise ourselves they'll notice a ship going missing, and unless we can disguise every signal including the light emitted from the ship itself, then they'll be able to find us." Ayia took a little step closer to Allera. Hopefully that would help her feel a tad more comfortable. "I'm afraid we're gonna have to abandon this ship for now though."
  5. "Depending on the model, they can use superlumic signals as well. FTL, but for signals. If we get a small enough ship then we should be fine though."
  6. "For now just try to disguise our direct outward signals. Once we get our ship, anyway."
  7. "The answer is 'depends.'"
  8. "Beorin isn't from this universe."
  9. Ayia gave him a side-eye. "I thought we established that you aren't familiar with Beorin at all?"
  10. "Go for it anyway. I'm just going to plan for the worst-case scenario."
  11. "I'm pretty sure it would work, but... we can't be certain."
  12. "I'm unsure how your Perception stuff would affect the Beorin tech. It isn't... traditional."
  13. "Oh, certainly. There is absolutely no way we could avoid picking up on Beorin scanners with one of their own ships, but they're the only ones here fast and tough enough to get us through that portal in one piece. The plan is to get as far as we can without being noticed, then as far as we can before they get suspicious, and then to gun it the rest of the way before they explode us. Whether or not they've got a decent comms system through the portal is about fifty-fifty if I had to guess, but if we're quick enough then they probably can't quite surround us on our way through. The only thing we'll have to take care of is the manual hyperdrive lock, but as long as that's down then we can be out of here and there in just a few minutes."
  14. "That seems like a tautologically paradoxical title, but okay." Ayia... shook the light. She stuck her hand in her pocket. "Alright, we're gonna need to get going soon. There a few vessels in particular that would work well here."
  15. "Well if we can't get rid of him, then he can come with for now." Ayia stuck out her hand to the newcomer. "Ayia, captain of this whacko operation. You?" @Nameless*
  16. "So... he's good?"
  17. "What's going on," Ayia whispered to Variance.
  18. look upon me and tre- The trash can hit him in the face. hey!
  19. Ayia let herself in. "So... whoa. You're the new guy?"
  20. Ayia skirted into the bay, jogged over to the ship, and knocked on the entrance.

If I manage to live that long and now somehow die doing something stupid (Eating food, breathing, sledding, tripping down the stairs, etc.) Then I'm in for a party.

  22. The ship finally landed in the Beorin cruiser, but Ayia had directed the inspections to delay so they could occur under her own command. Now all she needed was a really good excuse to leave the transmissions room. "Be right back," she said, and left.
