  1. The thing on top of her slumped, falling... limp. Was that even something a stone could do? Wait. No. Elya grabbed a chunk of fallen concrete, grunting--almost screaming, even, at this point--to drag herself out from the under Ji's fallen body. The moment she was free a husky gasp escaped her lips, but there wasn't any time left to breathe. Elya twisted over to face upright, quickly tested her most vital functions, then yelped and reached out to catch Ji as he slumped onto the concrete. "Hey... nono. Don't. Ji, don't..." Elya still couldn't see a thing. She brushed a shaky hand over his face, drawing sticky, warm blood. Lights... he was dying. He was actually dying. "Wait! Stop!" She wrapped both arms around his waist, pulling him to her from behind. "Stop it! Snap out of it! Ji, wake up--wake... HELP! SOMEONE! ANY--" Her voice broke.

      @Dannnex they're awesome, but they don't deserve a holiday.

  3. Lights lights lights lights lights lights-- "JI!" Concrete smashed across them, pulverizing the surrounding Pacis and kicking up clods of smoke-like dust. The crashing rang in her ears like thunder, each explosion of iron and stone shrapnel cutting through the air. The ground was shaking, the walls were shaking, the air was shaking-- She was shaking. If anything had sliced through to her heart and killed her then she hadn't noticed yet. It was just crash after crash after crash after crash after... The rumbling came to a stop. Oh, lights. Elya was trembling, curled into a fetal ball and gasping for breath. Something was dripping: lights, she couldn't see. Were her eyes closed? Was it just too dark? With all the dust and debris... she couldn't breathe. She couldn't see. Was she dead? Was that it? Silence, for just a brief moment, before she screamed with whatever breath was left for someone to help.
  4. "Ji? Oh my lights--" The building collapsed.
  5. "Umm... this'll be my first." His smile didn't falter at all.
  6. By all the lights ever. That was a lot of Pacis. Elya spiked her power, reading the situation. They were all Mystics? Even among the Pacis that many was rare. But why were they even here? There wasn't any way Ji could've taken care of all those Reapers on his own... could there? Didn't matter now. She reached into her coat, then puffed out a slightly exasperated breath at finding only one throwing knife left. Of course she'd neglected to retrieve the ones she'd used on that Mystic. At least she'd be able to restock at her apartment after this, but for the time being it meant that she only had melee attacks. Fine. That was fine. Just save Ji. Elya crashed through the window, whipped out her katana, then slashed across a slew of Pacis.
  7. So awhile back I was put on an antidepressant medication for... well, anti-depression. Not much of a big-brainer there.

Anyways, we ended up switching brands 'cause reasons, and the new brand decided it'd be a right good prank to make me feel randomly sick all the time. I wasn't entirely sure what it was that was causing all those nasty symptoms, so I opted to take a control day without medication. Sure enough, it was the meds, so I decided to stop taking them, hoping that I'd have gotten my anxiety back under control for the most part by quitting my job and keeping up with school and all.

It's been a couple days since then, and earlier today I started feeling really weird. At first it was just stomach pains, and I figured I'd just overeaten or something (the fact that we were running for PE wasn't necessarily helpful either). The symptoms kept at it, though, even to when I'd gotten home and sat down for an hour or two to watch Attack on Titan.

[insert obligatory "go watch anime" rant here]

So I looked up a couple hunches of mine and my mom's, and apparently all the symptoms I'm having are exactly as listed for sertraline withdrawal. Now, naturally, this whole gig is just part of the system. Withdrawal is a thing that happens, and I only really have to contact my doctor about it if it happens to last for awhile.

But lemme tell ya... this sucks.

I’m so sorry, Fad, that is frustrating. Getting on the right meds is really hard.  I hope you’ll be able to find a brand that works for you.

That's the worst! I'm so sorry. Feeling bad is awful and feeling bad because of something like that even worse. Feel better soon!

[insert obligatory "be really really careful about self-diagnosing stuff using google" rant here]

      i speak from experience
you have no idea how powerful placebos can be
      like actually
i've had legitimate, physiological symptoms [e.g. vomiting, headaches, fever] from something that was later 100% proven to be a placebo.

but more importantly, hope you feel better! no matter the reason, feeling awful is awful.

  8. All the sounds were coming from a consistent location: that made it easy to pinpoint. Elya ran up a street, leapt between a series of iron railings, then flung herself onto a rooftop. Lights, that's a lot of smoke. Elya leapt between two buildings, keeping at a consistent pace. This was a much more familiar setting--running through the city, tracking down a target. She put her breathing back under control, straining her eyes to fix them on the smoke and the distant building. This was something well worth focusing on. "Hold out for me, Ji..." Elya muttered. @xinoehp512 @Mystic Syn
  9. She swore. Loudly. "Scan the area. You have to find him." Elya's hands were shaking again, but somehow she kept her voice steady. Right: there was an entire team she had to worry about here. "We can't let them interrogate him." Something occurred to her. They'd finished off their Mystic... so where was all that shooting coming from? Elya stopped at an intersection, then bore down to the right. "I think I might have an idea of where he is. Secure the area."
  10. "Heading back right now. Can you check on Ji?"
  11. "That's..." Elya blinked. "Remarkable."
  12. Elya went silent with shock. "You did? How?"
  13. Get back in touch with the others, Elya ordered herself. She swiped a hand across her eyes and flicked the tear off. Make sure they're okay. She pressed a finger to the comm, putting her breath back under control. "John? Everything okay?"
  14. Her breathing was back to panicked gasps. Sweat was rolling down her forehead, matting the edges of her hair. Lights... everything was shaking now. She couldn't even keep the end of her blade steady in the air. This wasn't real. This couldn't be real. Not her. Not here. Not now. Nononononono-- Elya clamped her mouth shut, swallowing and taking a step back. Were there more tears brimming in her eyes? Now, of all times? Somewhere in the back of her mind, a tiny fragment of her being longed to put the sword away. It begged to return to the old friend. What are you good for, if not to destroy? No. She couldn't. One tear streaked off her face as Elya spun around, clenched her fists, and ran away.
  15. Her strength was beginning to return. Elya took in a deep breath and held it, puffed it out and held that... great. That was her breathing back under control. If need be she could go from there. Direct control over respiration was a general baseline for all her other abilities. Alright. Alright. She... alright. She was okay. Elya grunted, pushing herself fully upright. One hand began stroking her eyes, wiping away tears and grime. Ugh... lights. She cracked open her eyelids, then squeezed them shut again from the brightness. It took maybe a minute to adjust enough for her to hold them open. A part of her was a little annoyed by all that, but at the very least it meant she was coming back to normal. So... who...? Elya looked up. An immature yelp gurgled out of her throat. One hand leapt to her mouth, the other snatching her sword. Elya shot backwards, barely a clod of dust or gravel kicked up by the fluid jump. She slid back into an alleyway, gripping the blade in both hands. "H-how? Wh..." By lights. Her hands were trembling.
  16. "Yeah. That's me." Jami put on another smile. "Who're you?"
  17. Elya gasped, eyes shooting open. A fist leapt to her chest, pressing against the suddenly deep and ragged breaths. Gasping in and out, she squeezed her eyes shut again as tears finally began watering out from the lids. Feeling gushed back into her fingertips and toes at long last, prickling like pins and needles at every appendage. Lights... thank goodness. She blew out another breath, taking control over her respiration once again. Warm relief was finally spreading out over her entire body. Elya pulled back her elbow and pressed against it, sitting up tentatively.
  18. "Not... mkay..." Elya's eyes were still clamped shut, but by now she'd managed to get enough feel in her fingers to stretch them in and out.
  19. That voice... she definitely recognized it. Ack. Not that it mattered right now. "Nng... Ji?"
  20. Elya muttered something unintelligible, eyes still incredibly heavy. Did she know that voice? "Mm...kay..."
  21. "What? Did I... do..." Jami reached into his pocket. "Sorry?"
