  1. Can I get further discounts for a third/fourth blade?
  2. If I buy more than one Shardblade, can I get a discount?
  3. "No, it's fine. I'm sorry about your parents." The childhood that Wes just described was worlds apart from Allri's own. He considered having no parents the standard and had been trained by a guild of assassins since birth, which was scary enough by itself. But the way he talked about people disappearing, as if it was a perfectly normal thing to happen... Lord Ruler, she was glad Wes wasn't trying to kill her. If he knew about her past, would he think she was soft? She sat down next to Wes. He'd been open about himself, and now she would do the same, even if it made her look like a clueless child. "I was born into House Venture, on Scadrial. I didn't know anything about other worlds, but I was happy for a while, before the revolution came. I managed to escape, but I had no clue what to do next, so when I met someone that said they could take me to another world, I went with him." Allri shook her head, remembering how innocent she'd been. "I know, how naïve of me, trusting a man I'd never met before. But I didn't know anything back then, so I followed him here. He left me here, and I wandered around for a few days before being taken in by TUBA. I stayed there for about a week-then I saw something about exploring a new cave system, and thought it looked interesting. And that's how I ended up here."
  4. We know that one person can bond two spren, so why can't one spren bond two people?
  5. Now that was something Allri didn't want to think about-one worm a day was more than enough. Fortunately, this cavern seemed safe so far. She tried to keep it light. "Don't worry about it, fighting isn't everything. I know the first two caves tried to kill us, but I have a good feeling about this one. Third time's the charm, right?" She walked over to Wes, noticing how the light spread through the mist to brighten his face evenly. Another reminder of how strange this new world was. "How did you end up here?"
  6. Allri waved back. "Hi, I'm Allri." She recognized Wes, of course. He'd helped her calm down after the worm fight, showing her that she wasn't the only one scared of the Alleyverse's dangers. He looked a little nervous now, but after what had happened today, she felt a bit of that too. Instead of focusing on that, she thought about Wes. He was smart-he didn't just know things, he was able to put the pieces together and actually use his knowledge. If his improvised bomb hadn't shown that, his question now definitely did. As a Mistborn, Allri had never thought about magnetic charges, though some parts of Allomancy worked almost the same way. Even if burning magnets didn't change anything, it was a very logical thing to try. "I've never tried burning a magnet, but I'll let you know how it goes once we go back up." She Pulled the remaining coins to her-just like a magnet-and returned them to Rig. Another idea came to her, and she smiled. "Also, we were just finishing up the training. I'm free now-do you want to explore the cave together?" @I think I am here.
  7. Allri didn't get any breathing room before Rig moved on to the next stage of the training. Her eyes were still closed, but she saw the blue lines of Rig's coin pouch jump into the air. A moment later, another coin came streaking down at her. She pushed it away, but more came. When she dealt with those, there were even more behind them, faster than before. Rig flew around the cavern, shooting coins from every angle, and eventually Allri found herself unable to keep up with the more experienced Coinshot. A coin plinked into her shoulder, and she lost focus. Despite its small size, a coin could still hurt, as Allri learned during the next few seconds. She managed to bat away some of the coins that followed, but several more hit her before she felt Rig descending. She uncovered her face-when had she done that?-and opened her eyes, looking questioningly at the tall Coinshot. "How did I do?" Rig smirked. "Not bad for your first time, but you still have a long way to go before you can challenge the master." He reached out, patting her on the head, and Allri felt a glow of pride. It lasted even through Rig's next words: "Now, pick up those coins." Allri did.
  8. If Steelheart was in the Alleyverse, could aluminum bullets hurt him?
  9. As Rig tossed a couple coins at her, Allri deflected them easily. For all she knew, Rig could have just thrown those coins without pushing-they moved in steady arcs. Another coin came, and this one was definitely Pushed. Before she could deal with it, she saw three more lines, moving at speed towards her. Three quick pushes dealt with those, but the coin that had gone high was coming down now, and was surprisingly close. Startled, Allri pushed hard, reversing the coin's path. That had been close-half a second more and it would have hit her. She smiled, even though the practice wasn't over yet. It would get harder, Allri had no doubts about that. Remembering her accident earlier when recovering the coins, she took a step forwards, bracing herself in case she needed to Push hard. @TrailRunnin
  10. Allri closed her eyes and burned iron and steel, then watched the lines as Rig shot coins around the room. None of them came close to hitting her, so she didn't touch them. Maybe Rig planned to use them as anchors later. Even with her eyes closed, Allri could see the blue lines. Rig had said that she would, of course, but it still surprised her a bit. As expected, the lines clustered around Rig. The Coinshot was carrying coins-obviously-and had vials of steel and a gun on his belt. There were also lines to his bracers, but they were dimmer. Strangely, Rig's necklace had no line. Allri could have sworn it was metal-she'd be sure to ask Rig about it later. Other lines moved in the distance-likely other expedition members-but she ignored them, focusing on the task at hand. When the first coin came, she was ready. @TrailRunnin
  11. By following her electrum shadow, Allri got to the center of the forest safely. She extinguished her electrum, then looked around-following the shadow meant that she wasn't looking at her surroundings. Rig and Corette were already there, and they didn't look concerned, so it was probably safe. In the center of the clearing, steam bubbled up from a hot spring, covering the forest in mist. Allri was reminded of nights on Scadrial, when the mists would come in and cover the city. Like the mists, the fog here made it hard to judge distance, but the atmosphere of mystery more than made up for it. She looked back at the frozen trees, only a few meters away but still blurred until only an outline was visible, then jumped as one of them moved. She flickered her tin on for a moment, and was relieved to recognize Rig. Allri felt a glow of pride at Rig's words. The Coinshot thought she'd done well! Coming from Rig, those words meant a lot more than they would otherwise. As for his offer of training... She smiled. "I'd love to." Pulling out a handful of coins, she walked over to Rig and turned on her steel. Seeing the familiar blue lines reminded her of another metal she had. Was using iron during practice cheating? Knowing Rig, he'd probably say something like "Go ahead, you couldn't beat me even with all 16 metals", but it didn't hurt to ask. "Can I use iron during practice?" @TrailRunnin
  12. @Oduim’s Chmapion @Rushu42
  13. As the last scouts splashed into the next cavern, Allri breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone was down, and she hadn't killed anyone with mistimed pulls. She hadn't managed the pulls perfectly, but it was good enough, especially considering Rig's pushes from the bottom. Halfway through the process, the shaft had lit up in a blaze of golden light. Allri had wanted to go down right then, but she couldn't. She had to help everyone else down first, and while she didn't mind being useful, every second that she spent doing that was another second that she wasn't exploring the wonders below. Now she was free. She jumped in, feeling the wind whip against her skin and whoosh around her ears. Her tin was still on, and the strength of the sensations shocked her. Had she been missing out on this the whole time? She'd have to try it out again later. Again and again-she didn't think she could ever get tired of this feeling. All too soon, she neared the bottom. Simultaneously Pulling on an anchor high above and Pushing the coins beneath her, she managed to come to a stop just above the puddle, then decided that she didn't want to get wet. Pulling on the coins in front of her, she jumped to dry ground. Easy. She smiled-maybe she was getting good at this. Without looking, Allri Pulled, reclaiming the coins behind her. She fell backwards and landed in the water. There had been too many coins behind her, and moving them through water took extra force. She didn't weigh much, so when she Pulled, it didn't take much to knock her over. Coins pelted her as the freezing cold of the water washed over her, and her tin amplified these feelings too. It hurt. She immediately extinguished it, then gathered the coins and walked over to the other scouts. Corette was asking for volunteers to explore a petrified forest, and the air felt warmer near it. After the soaking, Allri could definitely use some warmth. "I'll take a look." Too late, she remembered that the last cave she walked into had tried to kill her. Oh well, she'd already agreed, and if anything happened, she had her Mistborn powers. Steelsight showed no metal in the forest, so she turned off her iron and steel, then burned electrum to look into her future. Following the electrum shadow, she moved deeper into the forest, feeling the heat increase with each step. @ZincAboutIt
  14. With her tin on, Allri couldn't miss Rig's shout. She braced herself against a wall and picked out some anchors, patches of ore embedded in the walls. Interestingly, there were patches of metal all around this cave, but none in the shaft below or in the tunnel that led here. Just another thing to think about later-she had to focus now. This time, she wouldn't fail and need to be rescued. She readied herself, then called back down to Rig. "Ready!" @TrailRunnin
  15. Allri noticed Wes walk up to the edge and look down. Even with tin, it was hard for her to see what was down there, so she didn't think he would see anything. Maybe she was wrong, though-Wes leaned over more, as if he'd seen something. Then he started swaying. It looked like he'd been affected by the mushrooms, and in the worst possible spot, too. Quickly, she burned pewter and pulled Wes back to safety. @I think I am here. Allri thought about it. She wasn't that good with iron, but she should be able to keep up a constant pull, and pull a bit harder if she sensed someone falling too fast. She'd need to be anchored, but she could do it. She'd better be able to-Rig had saved her life twice already, and she didn't want to repay him by being dead weight. That was another thing-Rig would be on the other side, and he was much better at Pushing. He'd be the one doing the subtle adjustments, and she'd seen how skilled he was before. Allri turned towards Corette and nodded. "I can do it." @ZincAboutIt @TrailRunnin
  16. When Allri woke up, she wasn't in the same place. She'd been carried out of the cavern, and when she turned around, she saw Rig heading back with a breathing mask on his face. As she listened to the other scouts talk to the newly discovered Epic. Apparently, the Epic had been asleep in the cave, maybe for days, while the mushrooms and their soporific spores piled up around her. She would have died in there, asleep till the end, if they hadn't come along. And Allri had rushed into the cave without taking any precautions, had lay down and fallen asleep... If Rig hadn't carried her out, she would have died. She hung her head, feeling useless. When Sarah asked for help, Allri held her breath and rushed over, hoping to make up for her mistakes earlier. She stepped up to the edge and looked down, burning tin and steel, and saw a single blue line falling down. A coin, thrown by Rig. It landed with a splash, sunk a few inches, then stopped, apparently having reached the bottom. Even with her tin-enhanced senses, she couldn't see past the surface of the water, but it seemed to be just a puddle. Turning on her iron, she threw down a handful of coins and played around with them for a bit. She wasn't worried about running out of coins-it would be the easiest thing in the world to pull them back to her. As she'd expected, the coins stayed at about the same height, even as they spread out under the surface. They stayed still when she wasn't moving them, so there wasn't a strong current down there. Seeing Rig preparing to jump off, Allri told him what she'd seen. "There's some water down below, but it's not deep, and it doesn't move. The rocks are smooth under the surface, so some coins might slip out from under you, but I'm sure you know what to do if that happens." @Rushu42 @TrailRunnin
  17. Changed some skills and changed the fabrials to spikes, so duralumin should work with them now. Ready for the list.
  18. Sometimes, Allri thought, it was good to be wrong. In the first cave, she hadn't paid much attention to the scenery. She'd been too busy trying to stay alive to really get a good look in, and while a little thing like that should be easy for an experienced Mistborn, Allri couldn't even fly ten feet without falling over. Besides, she figured she'd always be able to come back and fill her sketchbook later. No matter how breathtaking they were, the caves weren't going anywhere-the world wasn't going to end tomorrow, after all. So, after a long walk through a dark tunnel, she'd assumed that the caves would be just that-caves, dark, dull, dead. But when she took her first look at the next cavern, she was shocked into silence. This was amazing. The cave glowed with a soft purple shine. All around Allri, little pieces of light floated through the air, falling slowly from the spike-studded ceiling. Near her feet, the falling sparks covered the ground, like a blanket of fallen leaves. So close together, the lights became one, a glowing river of purple that wound its way into the distance. Further out, more lines of light stretched across the floor. Some were simple, connecting glowing patches of mushrooms and rocks. Others were more detailed, covering the rock in elaborate patterns that somehow all managed to be in relaxing harmony. Slowly, not wanting to wake from the dream, Allri knelt, running her hands through the river of light. It was light and airy, the stuff of dreams made real. She cupped her hands, bringing some up to her face, then blew, sending a cloud of light across the cave. It drifted off slowly, spreading all directions and covering her in a thousand points of light. Allri relaxed, feeling the peace of the room. Lying down and closing her eyes seemed like a good idea, and the fungus carpet near her would be perfect bedding. It was so nice to be here, after the chaos of the worm. So dreamy.
  19. Is this character within the acceptable point limit?
  20. Althea asked the question calmly enough, but Allri could see the unease in her eyes, hear the tension in her voice. This was someone who did not like Rioters. Allri wasn't surprised-people liked to keep their own heads to themselves, and whenever a Soother or Rioter was around, they would suspect manipulation. It was a common enough response, but almost always unjustified. Soothers were real people, not some society of evil overlords who enjoyed having brainwashed servants. Lord Ruler, her own father had been a Soother! She'd seen how people reacted to him, even though he hadn't done anything to them. Now she was the one being reacted to. Allri met the older woman's gaze, looking deep into her red eyes. "Yes, I Rioted you. I Rioted everyone. People were dying out there because they didn't feel like moving, and I had to help them." She smiled, then continued. "I heard that wearing a tinfoil hat makes you immune to Soothing. You might want to give that a try, if you hate it so much." @Sorana
  21. Allri stood there for a while, thinking about the boy's words. Knowing that someone else was feeling some of the same things, even if they didn't show it, made her feel better somehow. She didn't feel as much like an inexperienced little girl out of her depth, even if, compared to most of the party, she still was. It was nice to feel normal, instead of wondering if she was just not ready when everyone else could deal with it. Hearing Corette's voice in the distance brought her back to reality. The woman was gathering a scouting party, and Allri overheard her saying "fetch the mistborn". Unless there was another Mistborn here, that was her cue. She nodded to the boy. "Well, time for me to go. They want me with the scouts, and I don't think a good idea to keep them waiting. See you around. I'm Allri, by the way." She walked over to the scout group, carefully stepping around puddles of Soulcast water. When she arrived, Corette was explaining how to "text". Surprisingly, Allri understood most of it, even though she'd never seen the devices before. She took a tracking tablet, then turned to the rest of the group, where the scouts were introducing themselves and their abilities. The woman who'd been cut out of the worm was there, showing off her abilities to another girl, who introduced herself as Myriad. There were a lot of terms flying around that Allri didn't know well, but combining her TUBA briefings with the explanations here, she had some idea of what most people could do. Maybe she'd get a better idea after seeing them in action. And if everyone else was introducing themselves, then maybe she'd better do the same. "Hi, I'm Allri. I'm a Mistborn." @AonEne @Sorana @kenod
  22. The swords are magically poisoned and more durable/sharper than normal swords, but that's about it. They don't cut effortlessly or weigh less like Shardblades, though I suppose the Investiture in them could let them block one. I don't think the natural weapons are worth much, because how often are you going to throw your blood on people or get close enough to claw someone with a Shardblade? I see your point on the teleportation, it's really strong when you think about it more. 35? 40? Hemalurgic creatures aren't exactly lying around everywhere, and a regular Rioter can take control of the weakest ones by Rioting fear anyways. I don't think Myrddraal can control the fear's intensity much either. From vsbattles: Strong, but compared to Rioting, very limited and brute-force, perhaps can't be turned off, and I'm not sure what the upper limits of Soothing/Rioting actually are. Emotional allomancy gets a lot of its strength from subtlety, and we don't see much forceful Soothing/Rioting in the books. Feruchemists get a discount of hundreds of points compared to taking all the ferring powers, so that's where the 'package deal costs less' comes from.
  23. How many points does it cost to be a Myrddraal (Wheel of Time)? Quick summary of Myrddraal abilities: Increased speed, strength, and durability (40) Can make people afraid by looking at them (Zinc allomancy, but much more specialized: 10) Have some way of sensing magic use (A vague feeling, without the details of bronze allomancy: 10) Can teleport through shadows (20) Have magic Myrddraal swords (30 if you want them to count as Shardblades) Natural weapons (acidic blood, hardened fingernails), can control Trollocs (weak hemalurgic creations?) (5) Looks like Slenderman I'd add a slight discount for having to take everything as a package deal, so 100 points sound fair? If you don't want Myrddraal swords to count as Shardblades (and they really aren't as good), then 80 for the whole thing.
  24. Allri shook her head. "No, nothing of that sort, just wanted to make sure we didn't all get blown up by accident. I'm sure you wouldn't have let that happen, but I had to know for myself. Peace of mind and all that." She closed her eyes, trying to shut out the day's deaths. Nobody had talked about this before, at TUBA or ACE, and she hadn't imagined that there would be so much blood on the first day. She wished she was stronger, better able to deal with it. Everyone else seemed to be unaffected, to have gotten used to it long ago, or simply never cared at all. After all, the boy she was talking to had built a bomb out of scraps in just a few minutes, in the middle of the fight. He'd said he wasn't powerful before, but he could keep himself together. Why was it so hard for her after just a day, when the others could laugh off years of it? When Allri opened her eyes again, she found herself looking at the boy. Up close, he looked younger, around her age. His eyes, though... his eyes didn't match that. There was some nervousness in them, true, but also a glimmer of something else, something that made her shiver. How long had he lived here, in this city between worlds? How much death had he seen, and how much more would he see? When she next spoke, her voice was soft, barely more than a whisper. "How can you be so calm? How do you deal with it?" @I think I am here.
