So the theory, as I understand it, is that Lightweavers rely on self-actualization to advance as Radiants and so can have a highly variable (and highly visible) relationship with their spren and powers. This is because they do not speak oaths or words like the other orders. That's very interesting.

I have not heard this before. Is this confirmed that Lightweavers don't have a clear oath-level progression? I've always thought that Shallan's truths were "I'm terrified" "I killed my father" and "I killed my mother".

First, welcome! Second, I'm not sure what you mean by "type of shard" but there are some examples of living spren turning into non-blades. In either Words of Radiance or Oathbringer, don't we see: There is also a funny example at the end the novella Edgedancer, which is set between Words of Radiance and Oathbringer:

We know that there was only one, Melishi (sp?), at the time of the Recreance. I think the in-world Words of Radiance mentions that it was considered odd for there to only be one bondsmith then. I can imagine that two bondsmiths was the norm and that times with one or three were considered especially discordant or harmonious for the rest of the orders.

I'd be curious to know how many times there have been 3 Bondsmiths + Ishar. We know that it was possible, if rare, to have only 1 bondsmith at a time. Were 2 the norm or 3?

Just found an interesting older WOB that seems relevant here: 2dark_22 RAFOed I'm sure, but you said you are planing 2 arcs of 5 books each in Stormlight Archive. Having read all of your published works (and some unpublished:)) I know your storytelling pace is astronomicaly quick. I'm positive you will end current desolation story in the first 5 books, since as I understod, other 5 books will be set in near future in SA universe. Tangential support for this theory and seems to confirm that Odium will not be shattered in the 5th book.

Some of Mistborn Secret History seems relevant to whether Odium's word is binding on himself: This strongly suggests to me that there are certain agreements with other shards that the shards cannot break, no matter their desires or even their Intent. There are some immutable rules which govern the shards besides their own Intents. To me, it is something like this which binds Odium. Some agreement that he came to with Honor/Cultivation.

I wonder if refusing to accept personal responsibility is a tell for Odium's influence? Just like: I remember at least one other example of this kind of language:
