    Prompt 5; Raven, featuring Riva Praetorium from Masquerade. I had a good time with this one! It took too long for me to settle on a pose for her, but I'm happy with the one I ended on. Riva is always one of my favorite art subjects; I love her eyes and cheekbones. Riva is the Raveness, the king's torturer. She's ancient, but with the power of cosmetics and potions, she's made herself quite pretty and has a powerful presence in the ballroom. The next prompt is one I'm particularly excited about...

    "Of course he was, but he got me dressed and chopped up ingredients, and did all the heavy lifting for me."

    "Oh fine. Fine, fine, fine." She sat down and mused. "I miss Daku...."

    She pouted. "Oh, but he might get bored."

    "Stay here, boy," Riva demanded. "I'll see if I can make up a potion to better help your friend."

    "I demand to know I'm safe for the time being." She put her own hands on her hips to challenge him. "You could leave Fischer with me."

    "Not so loyal after all, though, don't you think? Until you sort out this mess, I want a personal guard you trust for certain. I refuse to be confined to quarters for the foreseeable future."

    "Yes, dear," said Riva. She stood up, midnight colored dress trailing behind her. "Do what I suggested you do earlier and check up on your guard." Riva rolled her eyes. "I hope next time it doesn't take broken bones for you to listen to me."

    "Thank you," she said flatly. "Stars, why don't mortals make decent conversation?" When he was done, she pulled her hand away. "Thank you. Now, I'm not terribly adept at bandaging the wounded, so why don't you run along and do that yourself? And try to snap Caden out of his reverie? I want more kisses, they're good for him."

    Riva rolled her eyes, sighing. "You seem awfully interested in my face. I do hope you're staring at it because you find me pleasant, because anything otherwise might anger me."

    She scoffed. "I am not a witch. The years have embellished the rumors of my skill. What I do is purely science."

    "Don't lie to me, child," she said playfully. "I'm just trying to make conversation."

    "What are you thinking, boy?" Riva asked, smiling at the way he kept looking up to see her face, like a child peeking at a frightening yet exotic animal. She was impressed by how gently he helped her and found herself appreciating how much that contrasted the speed and severity with which he fought.

    "I don't care," she snapped. "My husband is clearly busy. The faster you help with this, the faster your friend gets wrapped up."

    "Fischer. Lovely. My name is Riva if you weren't aware." She offered her hand. "I can't wrap this myself."

    She rolled her eyes, striding over to her desk and grabbing some medical tape and gauze. "Uh... soldier! I didn't catch your name. Assist me?"

    She scoffed, wiping off some of the mascara that had migrated to her cheeks and looking at it distastefully. "Hardly."

    "I'll need my hand doctored. And... Stars, my makeup is a mess. I look like a pig."

    Riva uncapped the potion and positioned the unconscious man's head up so he could better swallow the few drops she perscribed. She kissed his forehead, whispering, "thank you for saving me."

    "Don't worry, darling, your superior is in good hands." She patted Fischer on the head.

    "Well," she rasped, "I was hoping to find one that shuts the body down so it can devote all its time to healing, but I seem to have run out just a few weeks ago. This is a stasis potion. It'll keep him alive far longer than would be normal."
