  1. But Butt had stolen the Infinity Stones so she was just wearing a heavy metal glove. At Star's command, a giant ton of bricks fell on Shadow's head.
  2. She disappeared to the Cognitive Realm and was powerful enough to stay there indefinitely. Only now, Shadow couldn't see her.
  3. Star snapped her fingers and the mask stopped working. Shadow wouldn't be able to breathe. Meanwhile, she made the fumes smell overwhelmingly of perfume. Not great, but better.
  4. "It's been great!" Star said, summoning a bunch of knives to her side and sending them at Shadow from all directions. She put a forcefield around the knives' perimeter so Shadow couldn't get out. Plus, the knives would track her if the teleported. And, since they were made of Star's power, they couldn't harm her.
  5. Star ducked Shadow's hatchet swing and took her other hand. "Nice to meet you," she muttered, kicking Shadow off her feet.
  6. Well, if we're going by my profile, then I'm just a green void of stars. No, I wasn't being sarcastic. I really like that idea. Plus, you're really fun to fight so far. I'm a cheater too. Star kept falling through the floor, healing herself and then shooting right back up, this time her spear in her hand. "Ah, what a fun pre-show." She put a forcefield around herself. It likely wouldn't end up helping her that much, but they were handy things to have.
  7. That was legitimately beautiful. Thank you. Star smiled. A part of her was longing to fight and she knew she wouldn't be fighting alone. The forgotten spear on the ground dissolved, but it didn't coalesce into her hand. Instead, Shadow's sword melted into petals and Star dashed forward, taking Shadow's throat. "I'm so close," she growled. "So close and you will not get in my way!"
  8. Narrator Star was furious. "Shadow!" she screamed, summoning her spear. "You have crossed a line! You take pleasure in the pain of others. You have tortured not only a fellow Narrator but the mimes who are in our service. They work for nothing and serve to fix our own mistakes. You say you hate romance, yet you dragged Marsh and I's story along, never letting him rest until he had killed himself and I turned into an uncontrolled creature of unfeeling nihility! You bring nothing but pain and you don't deserve your throne in the void, nor a title or crown at all. So present you with a choice." Star threw her spear at Shadow's feet. "Either take up my spear and prove to me that you are exactly what I expect. Or tell me exactly what it is you want. Either one is fine with me. Just do either which one right."
  9. Star eyed Pheonix again. He was involved with them. Maybe she could get him to talk one day.
  10. Star was curious what the Master of Silence was up to. The mimes' secrecy got on her nerves sometimes.
  11. She blinked. She knew she was thinking too much like Thought. Inspecting, finding what she liked. She internally shrugged. There was nothing wrong with him. She liked him a lot. Why couldn't she get out of her cynical way of thinking? Storms, do it like Thought, say it straight. "I don't know how to feel about you. I think I love you. I'm not sure."
  12. Enough waiting. Star turned to Pheonix. Shadow would get what was coming to her. "We all knew it was leading up to this." Star sighed. "You know, one day, Pheonix, all of this is going to hang in the balance. Something will go wrong and Fate will be furious with us all. It'll be our punishment for taking this little sector and doing what we've done. So I need to know that you care about me. I need to know that you want me, that you couldn't make it if I wasn't here. Show me. Show me what it is that makes my eyes your oceans. Because on that day, it's all going to come down to one thing. I know I can't do it alone. No one can do anything that way. Especially me, so I've seen. I keep finding more darkness than light and it scares me. I'm going to have a decision to make that day and it will all boil down to what you say right now. No one asks to be a hero. They're just made block by block, a bit more every day. I'm no hero. But Shards, sometimes you make me feel like I could be." @xinoehp512
  13. "Ah, punishments come where they are. No one controls the Void; not Jaywalk, and certainly not you, Shadow. One can only work with it."
  14. "Pheonix is the one who decided he loved me, not I. Honestly, I'm still not sure how I feel. We shall see how this turns out."
  15. "I could make an argument, but you would call it sappy. And anyway, maybe you should seek it."
  16. "You're making claims you don't even understand. And as for Luna, it's his own fault. He could have refused. And besides, what permanent harm did you cause him?"
  17. "That's impossible. You cannot actually harm any of us, try as you might."
  18. Star gritted her teeth. "Marsh is gone and I've accepted that. He'd want me to move on."
  19. "I suppose I do." She studied his face. The artistic side of her noticed the exquisiteness of his chalky-pale skin and how his odd flaming hair contrasted with it so perfectly. His eyes were slightly bird-like. She nodded. It made sense. Pale, fitting his outer timidness. But that burning strength above. Why couldn't humans be like that?
  20. Star cocked her head at the newcomer. She folded her arms and shook her head. "You aren't very good at that bravery thing, are you?"
  21. Star smiled faintly. "But that's not the problem. I appreciate your words, I really do, but they're not quite right for the moment. My Shard expands my mind, makes me think things I shouldn't. But I love it. I would be lost without it. The problem is as I said; I wish for acceptance. I can forgive the evil things that I have done in the past, but the fact is that I continue to spiral down that path. I can't help myself! At least now, it eats at me rather than the story itself. But I'm lost. I don't know what I'm doing anymore."
  22. Star growled to herself. When the Master of Silence was done with her, she would win back Jay's throne for him. Star paled further. "I don't want to give them up. I just want to be accepted."
