    "ENOUGH!" Star sent all the characters back to their original place. All the Narrators were left standing on the field. "I failed him," she said to Butt, staring forward sightlessly. "I let him die. I could not save him. It tore me apart. But I've forgiven myself and now he needs to rest."

    Star immediately sent him back to the Beyond, taking a deep breath. "Marsh stays where he is." Her face was stone serious. "He deserves his rest. Do not tamper with it. Or you will be tampering with me."

"We can't fight him. We have to stand united and show him what he's wrong about. If we fight, then we're only proving that we deserve exactly what he wants."

    Star glared. "You cannot kill him! He is the lifeblood of this thread and destroying him would result in a massive rebellion of Narrators. You do not want to see that. Besides, I was not the one who made him a Narrator. It was Jay." She swallowed.
