  1. The main flashback character for this book is a Parshendi.
  2. Jaywalk watched Star approach. He dispelled his gauntlets, then stepped to the side, letting her and Pheonix have their moment. Meanwhile, Kelsier and Marsh embraced, while Jasnah and Max had their joyful reunion with Edna.
  3. There’s plenty of other characters to narrate. Max, Kell, Jasnah...
  4. Jaywalk knelt down next to Pheonix, laying a hand on his back. “Rise, my brother.”
  5. Marsh kissed her on the forehead. “It’s all right.”
  6. Marsh felt a hug around his leg. “Daddy,” Rose cried, Granite standing behind her. “Daddy and Mommy are happy!”
  7. Hand in hand, Kelsier and Jasnah walked forward as well. “Daughter,” Jasnah said. Edna turned. “Mother!”
  8. The tears began to fall from Marsh’s eyes. “I know,” he said, pulling her close.
  9. She’s not the only one who needs this. Jaywalk reached out into the world, gathering all the ones closest to Marsh. Rose, Granite, and Kelsier. He had another surprise in store for Jasnah and Max. A young girl rose up behind Marsh. “Uncle?” she asked. “Where are we?”
  10. “Star, this is an act of mercy. I’m sorry for everything I’ve done to you.” He turned, walking back to his throne. ”You may approach.”
  11. The man raised his head and looked at his surroundings. “Where am I?” ”Back from the Beyond,” Jaywalk whispered.
  12. The sky above opened, bathing the fields of gray grass in white. “The void gives me power over space and time. I can reach between realms—reach out to people.” A beam of light shot down in the center of the field. When it dispersed, a single figure stood there. A man.
  13. “I know,” he said. “But it’s time I fixed what I caused.” He reached out his arms, and then his mind, splitting the void in two
  14. Not for long, buddy. Time in the void resumed. “Star,” Jaywalk said. “It’s time to finish what we started.”
  15. He slammed her head against the ground in response. “I suggest,” he said, turning, “you don’t try something like that again. You are in my domain.” I gotta go. TBC tomorrow...
  16. “Feisty, isn’t she, Bozo?” The rabbit hopped over to Star’s face. “I’ll say.”
  17. Jaywalk didn't even have to move. The power of the void rushed in, restraining Star, then slammed her to the ground.
  18. Kay, I'm back. Jaywalk didn't turn around as Star appeared behind him. "Bold move," he said, clenching his gauntleted fists.
  19. The flood of bunnies collided with the forcefield. In their animalistic rage, they began to surround her, making more fleeting attempts to break through. Meanwhile, Jaywalk waited at the edge of the void, watching...waiting.
  20. Havel's mind was much too twisted already. Star's attempt at mind control merely intensified the attack.
  21. Jaywalk drew his hand back, smiling. An army of demon bunnies rose up behind him, baring their pointy teeth. "Havel," he said, "you may attack now." The void opened, and the army flooded out.
