Dalinar is definitely one of my favorite characters I've ever encountered in any work of fiction, but if I had to pick a character I'm most intrigued by right now, and one whose story I most want to dive into, it would be Szeth. I do really like his dedication to a single purpose, even to the point of driving himself insane. He seems to have a lot of willpower, but he's never really had the free will to act on it himself. He fought in the Battle of Thaylenah, but I'm interested to see his interactions as a free person, especially with the rest of the characters. The thing that makes me the most intrigued, however, is that I totally can't understand his commitment to the whole Truthless/Oathstone thing. Where did his determination to stick with that come from? Is it religious devotion? A genuine fear of the afterlife? I have to know the answers.

I feel like it Stormlight would fuel the body in the same way as food and water, since it does the same for oxygen, but once you stop burning it, you'd basically end up back in the same boat of having no water and food. I don't think it would really reset the three day/week clock of needing food and water either, since it has zero staying power. Once the Stormlight is gone, the body goes right back to not having any fuel for chemical reactions. You could intermittently use Stormlight to heal the damage caused by starvation and dehydration, but it'd be rough to live like that.

I think Amaram and Sadeas are interesting characters, and I kind of wish they had stuck around for that purpose. But narrative-wise, because I love it when our heroes succeed, I'm all too happy those two gone. They are far too dangerous. As for a character judgement of Amaram personally, I have no sympathy for him. His worldview is oriented around keeping the world from falling apart, which, true, is better than Sadeas' goal of conquest, but I disagree with the notion that Amaram cares about people. Remember, this is the man that had no problem with having messenger boys join the normal soldiers to be used as bait. Can you imagine any other character who really cares about people being okay with that? I could see Dalinar possibly executing any of his officers that pulled something like that. And not to mention that this is essentially the same thing as Sadeas' use of the bridgemen back in WoK. In my mind, the only difference between Sadeas and Amaram is that Sadeas wanted power out of a naked desire to rule, and Amaram wanted power in order to preserve some stability in the world. As such, he felt that he could be more effective if he did his best to keep his name clean.

I'd agree with that assessment, except for the idea of Moash dying an unceremonious death. He's definitely been built up too much for that. But he definitely isn't strong enough at present to be Odium's champion. As it is, he's not even as strong now as Szeth was, back when Szeth held the Honorblade. Even if Moash gets as good at Lashing as Szeth did, he'll still just essentially be the Assassin in White Mk. II, now with one extra sword. Now, if him going around killing Heralds gives his blade, and therefore him, the strength to withstand the full power of Yelig-nar, that would be a different story.

I would agree with this. I think that the Bondsmiths had a slight preeminence among the other orders, which could have come from their bonds with higher spren like the Stormfather. Obviously each order would have a say in what should be done, but I could definitely see Bondsmiths being looked to for greater guidance.

I actually wouldn't be surprised. You couldn't do it with "dead" shardplate, since the person who wears it is able to control it, but if it was a full radiant of the 4th Ideal, it may be possible for them to summon their shardplate around an enemy to try and imprison them. I still doubt it though, because it seems too convenient. Not to mention, we don't know how living plate works. Since it can be summoned and dismissed, does it need stormlight in the same way other plate does? Does it regrow faster than other plate? Does it have to regrow at all? However it works, it'll be incredibly useful, more so than regular plate, even if it can't imprison people.

I absolutely feel that the third sibling is stone. In the text of the Eila Stele, the Singers say: " For their betrayal extended even to our gods: to spren, stone, and wind." If this was before the start of the Desolations, their gods couldn't be their ancestors, and Odium was named as being humankind's first god, not the Singers'. So the 'gods' they are talking about are likely to be either Cultivation, Honor and whoever this third one is that relates to stone, or The Stormfather, the Nightwatcher and whoever this third superspren is, and I'd be willing to bet they're related to stone.

I always got more of a Nazgul vibe from the Unmade, like they had been alive millennia ago, but had been consumed by darkness and turned into something more resembling dark spren. The text of OB seems to back this up, at least a little bit, but feel free to bring up any WOB that disprove this, as I've just barely found this site, and haven't read any of them yet. I somewhat got a feeling that they are what Dalinar would become after years in Odium's service. I've been conflicted about this, since the excerpts from Hessi's Mythica claim that the 9th Unmade may be unknown, suggesting there was a spot open for Dalinar to fill, but then the vision always showed Odium's champion with 9 shadows, suggesting that the champion is something different from the Unmade. Unless the 9th shadow is their own?

I don't think so... The whole idea behind binding a spren in a gem is about giving it what it loves, then capturing it in the gem. The only reason Dalinar did the first one was due to his familiarity to the Thrill. I am also totally on board with Teft capturing the Heart of the Revel. I was a little nonplussed when I was reading through the book and it seemed like Shallan was going to face it down. Her confrontation with the Midnight Mother made perfect sense, but less so with Ashertmarn. Teft is a lot more fitting for it. Dalinar's confrontation with the Thrill solidly establishes the pattern.
