  1. That’s a good idea! I hadn’t thought of anything for the top yet!
  2. I would like to do shardblades. Like, I’ve seen small ornament wands for Harry Potter, but I don’t know if the awesomeness of the shard blade would be lost if they were miniature ornaments.
  3. I visited a Festival of Trees today, and got to see a lot of really fun themed Christmas trees! Themes like Harry Potter, superheroes, and My Little Pony, along with classics like focusing on a color or candy canes. Hence, I've been thinking about a Cosmere or Sanderson themed Christmas tree. What would HAVE to go on this tree? Initial thoughts: -Metal vials -Ornaments of the glyphs for the orders of knights radiants -Feruchemical metalminds
  4. When you have a dream that you were invited to a birthday (maybe?) party and Brandon Sanderson shows up. He even gives a Q&A for the couple dozen people there, but all of a sudden you can't remember any of the questions that you've wanted to ask .
  5. Until I listened to the audiobooks I read Moash as Mosah... I’m not sure how I managed to swap the s and a every time I still sometimes have problems with his name if I’m not looking at the text or someone doesn’t say it first!
  6. Yes. So Utah! This is the first reactions podcast I’ve listened to and I loved it. There was so much more excitement emanating from you all than other podcasts, and before listening I’m not sure I would’ve believed that possible. My favorite part was @Chaos explaining how part 5 was a Brandon avalanche - your voice alone was so animated! I’m sure it would’ve been more fun to watch!
  7. Just finished a few hours ago, definitely wanted more! It’s been driving me crazy since I started reading Wednesday, but I finally figured out the voice that my brain read M-bot in... K2S0 from Rogue One. Despite the fact that he’s described to have an “old-timey accent” I couldn’t get my brain to read it that way no matter how hard I tried! Maybe I should listen to the audiobook. I definitely felt like it was more preictable than what I’m used to from Brandon, as someone pointed out, that might partially be because it’s YA. I did forget about the chronic hyperdrive, but it was more like an “oh ya, well, that makes sense,” and I didn’t call Spensa’s dad being a traitor. Oh, I guess I also didn’t know what or why the Krell, but the revelations there weren’t mind blowing. Although, finding out that the Krell were just keeping them as prisoners and more or less toying with them has got to be pretty depressing. I was hoping to convince some of my Sanderson-resistant family members to read Skyward, but I now I’m conflicted because of the higher than I anticipated death toll. I appreciated that Spensa couldn’t do everything on her own, like she needed Rig to help... to fix M-Bot, though then I kinda felt like Rig was a little too convenient of a best friend, nevertheless, I’m ok with it!
  8. This was probably already assumed or asked at an early time but, my question was: if a herald were to die, like really die, not coming back, could someone take up their mantle as herald? B: That is a RAFO Not sure if the rest of his answer constitutes a spoiler for OB, but
  9. Gavilar’s black sphere... what has made you all determine it’s most likely voidspren/light and not an unmade? I just missed the connection from the WoB to that decision. I’m also new around here, so it just might be a lack of knowledge of my part! Thanks!
  10. @Argent Thanks for the advice! I spent some time on the Arcanum and found answers to the questions I had in mind, so I will be working on some new ones for tomorrow! Thanks again! @RShara I may take you up on that!
  11. Hi all! I posted some questions in a specific thread for the Skyward Utah signing, but haven’t gotten any responses, so I thought maybe I could get some help by posting in a more general area! Thanks in advance. I’m excited to attend the signing this Tuesday in Orem! I’m fairly new to this fandom, and have some anxiety about asking questions at the signing. I went to a signing 3 or 4 years ago in Nebraska, but all I did was gush about how much I love Mistborn. I know, so original. Anyway, hoping some of you could help me out on understanding good behavior at this event, because I don’t want to do anything improper! From the “signing etiquette and guidelines” thread it seems there is usually a Q&A near the beginning of the event, is that supposed to be Skyward related? This is a non-Cosmere book signing, is it still ok to ask Cosmere related questions? From what I can tell, during the signing people often ask a question(s?) while he is signing your book(s), is that correct? Does anyone have advice or guidelines as to what these questions can be about/should be about? Also, what do you do? Just hand him the book and fire a question at him? Feels rude.. so probably thank him for being an amazing writer and so good to his fans first? Basically, I just want to understand the nitty gritty details of what happens at a signing! Does anyone have advice on how to develop good questions? All the questions I’ve been thinking about I’ve been able to find WoBs on Arcanum - this is probably partially due to being such a newb! I just don’t want to “waste” a question! Anyone have any other advice? I’ll probably be attending alone, and I like to know as much as possible before doing things alone to avoid any potential embarrassment! Seriously contemplating just attending the beginning and not getting anything signed so as to avoid standing in line by myself! Any advice is awesome and much appreciated!

I have found and read through some of the posts on the Arcanum, but there is so much information there and I found it only recently. I guess I haven’t looked at search options on Arcanum so I will do that! I just wouldn’t want to “waste” a question! Anyone have any other advice? 13. I definitely agree with you! They’re looking at the end of the world, right? You don’t just throw out the help of a radiant because his homeland named him truthless. You don’t really throw out anyone’s help at the end of the world. On a much smaller scale, I basically held my breath throughout the first half of OB waiting for Dalinar to discover that Adolin murdered Sadeas. I was so convinced Adolin was going to be banished and and that would start him down a dark path for a while, but then at the end Dalinar finds out and there is little repercussion (I suppose there still could be some it the future but I think for the most part Adolin will be fine). I can’t imagine Adolin would get off so easy if it weren’t the end of the world, right? I mean, clearly there still has to be some kind of order so that it doesn’t turn into a purge situation. I guess I don’t need an on screen explanation for why people are ok with Szeth, I feel like I know enough about our main characters personalities to convince myself. I am sure we will encounter people who are uncomfortable and even hostile toward Szeth.
  14. I guess I might be ok with that! I think I would have to say gold. I don't think I'd want to live forever (this is how the Lord Ruler lived so long, right?), plus the time spent being old so I could live forever would be pretty miserable I think. On the other had I think it'd be too easy as a gold compounder to be convinced that I was invincible and I feel like that is always a dangerous way to think. I still think I'd go with gold! What's your opinion?
  15. I will also hopefully be showing up! Possibly late...
  16. Found shardcast a couple months ago and I’m loving it! Was on the stair stepper while listening to this episode and didn’t know if the tears were from doing cardio or because y’all were talking about Jasnah and Renarin’s Oathbringer moment! (Seeing as I also had watery eyes during the previous podcast while you were talking about Evie’s effect on her family, I’m gonna guess it was the latter!) Thanks for doing such a good job talking about these relationships!
  17. Whenever it's foggy outside: Me: Sends video to every Sanderson fan in my contact list captioned "I live in Scadrial!!"
  18. Too hard to choose! Actually, I've always thought I would make a good zinc misting, a Rioter, so maybe that! Although a compounding twin born would of course be really neat! I do like the idea of reaching the 2nd or 3rd heightening, but thinking to much about how I where that breath comes from makes me queasy!
  19. Thanks all for the welcome! It's hard to pick a favorite! Currently I'm really digging Adolin! His relationship with Dalinar, Renarin, and Shallan are so touching to me! They each have struggles that make them odd in Alethi society, but he supports them and never treats them like they're anything less than anyone else. The most recent Shardcast really delved into the relationship between Adolin and Dalinar and Adolin and Renarin and I think they really nailed his empathy! For years I've never thought any book could beat out Mistborn, then I read Oathbringer... I've read it twice and am trying to convince myself that I have the time to read it again!
  20. Hello fellow Sanderson fans! I too am one who has been browsing this and the Coppermind for sometime (less that some!), and I started listening to Shardcast a couple months ago. After reading Oathbringer last year I found myself without people to discuss the book with in depth which lead me to these forums. I guess I've decided I'd like to participate in some of the conversations! A little bit on my history with Brandon Sanderson: I read Elantris back in 2007; I loved it but somehow failed to pick up any of his other books for around 5 years until a friend encouraged me to read Mistborn, which I loved more than Elantris! I've successfully converted my fair share of people since (again, less than some!)! Typically I convince people to read Mistborn (I think I'm at 9, with 1 promised, and at least 1 other thinking about it), though I did convince my mom to read the Reckoners. Although I was obsessed with Mistborn, I was very against reading Stormlight, I didn't want to start something that massive with only one or even two books out. I read Reckoners, Warbreaker and Rithmatist, but repeatedly refused to read Stormlight. Finally, in 2016 a couple of (true) friends placed Way of Kings in my hands and I am now doing everything I can to get my fill of the Cosmere! Anyway... Hello! Edit: This is the first forum I've ever made the leap from browsing to participating in so... any advice?
