    Also I'm not sure you get a user manual when you pick up a shard. That makes sense they would try to restrict his knowledge since Sazed is now the most powerful shard(probably) because he holds two. As far as we know that had never happened since the shattering.

    Not sure about nature, but 16 is used as the base for hexadecimal mathematics used in computer coding. In nature the golden ratio shows up a lot which is 1.61803 . . . . That is the closest thing I can thick of what you might be getting at. It's more of a cosmere thing really, I think.

    I think this is interesting @FeltWillSaveUs and the evidence is somewhat compelling. I think that I would need another book with Lift's POV before anything becomes clear though. One thing is for sure that her backstory is mysterious as is her trip to the valley. I do think that since there is so much crossover with Nathis, it seems like there should be at least one significant crossover with Scadrial on the same level.

    Oooh I like that, I did always think they were all tropical, that would fit too sine bird of paradise are in the region that inspired the culture in SOTD anyway. @Corax

    So when the shards were taken up by the vessels, did they know which shard they took up? Did Ati know he had chosen Ruin? Did Uli-da choose to take up ambition or was it random?

    What is the distinguishing feature (if any) that determines if a metal has an allomantic use or not? Is there a patterns or system that determines which metals/alloys work? Or is it just the will of Brandon and what he likes? I haven't heard or seen this addressed before although I'm sure it's come up in the past. Thanks

    I know, I was reading through the flashbacks again and nothing. It seems like hat would be a good character/world building moment, but it's still being withheld. Maybe in Stormlight four . . . @Stormfather-in-Law

    I didn't really find this as a topic but I'm sure it's come up before. What are people's theories on the other shards that have yet to be identified. Every time I think about the possibilities get excited, but at the same time there are so many options speculations gets difficult. Do you think that there is always a complimentary nature to the shards. Ruin vs Preservation, Dominion v Devotion etc. What are your shard theories??? Some shards I think about possibly existing are Wisdom Creation(not sure about this but it would be cool) might go along with Ingenuity like Brandon suggested Love(if Odium or hatred is one then it seems logical that this could be one as well but maybe a different name) Apathy
