  1. "Indignant and spoiled," Mejin said. "I suppose he was half right." Then she noticed one of the beavers. "Lei!" She called to her spren. "I think we may be having some trouble." Tapping steel, she grabbed Li TaiRu and started heading out of the immediate danger zone - under a table. Burning bendalloy, she pulled out a tia card. "You want out of here?" she asked him. @Arlin
  2. "So..." Mejin said sheepishly, not quite sure what to say. @Arlin
  3. Another laugh escaped from her. "Yep," Mejin said, "at least I don't see anyone fighting anymore. That's seems like a sure sign to me, though you never know." @Arlin
  4. Mejin laughed lightly. She noticed then that the duel seemed to have ended. "Did you see who won?" she asked, though she honestly couldn't really have cared less. @Arlin
  5. A lone fisherman sits in his boat, line cast in the water. He slowly turns the knob and pulls out a small fish. He rows back to the dock and puts it in a bucket with others. There are many there and soon he'll retire for the day. Nearby, there are a few small shops, a center park with benches, and the long dock extending to sea. In the distance, there is the faint outline of a ship - design unknown. Some considered it a mirage, others an island. Either way, it hadn't come closer in the recent future, leading most to dismiss its presence. The fisherman gets back in his boat and starts to eat his lunch. ---------------
  6. Sorry for your loss.
  7. True. Half hour since last time - impressive.
  8. Why did I look at the side bar for what thread was last commented on? Why? I'm going to choose to take that literally. @MinatoRising
  9. Barry had destroyed it because the spa had refused to give him a pedicure.
  10. "That's kind of the point," Silva said. "Sorry." Then she handed Butt some ice.
  11. So nice of you @I am a STICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
  12. Mejin took a minute to think before responding. "There's always something more you don't know," she said finally. "Even something bad can have positive consequences. I wouldn't be surprised if the negatives you've caused have led to others saving. Never assumes you know the whole story - there's always more to it. And just think, you don't know if not trying to help would have resulted any better off. There's no use dwelling in the past." @Arlin
  13. "Oh?" Mejin said. @Arlin
  14. It's gonna take quite a while
  15. "I wouldn't be so sure. History is fickle." Mejin said. @Arlin
  16. Wouldn't that be fun...
  17. Er..you're both wrong
  18. I refuse to let you, kind sir.
  19. @Inklingspren The least I can do is repay the favor.
  20. "I have never heard a larger understatement," Mejin said. "So many dead." Her mind wandered to her parents. "So much destruction. It's good to know others haven't forgotten quite yet." @Arlin
  21. Hmm...I'd rather have no connections to that piece of parsley . Might need to change my name... ...or you know, maybe not since then there's a risk of a worse connotation. Avlis'll just have to do,
  22. An easy solution could be just to reverse letters. Just change it to Asle and it's a new name. While that takes literally no effort, it does work.
  23. The names straight out of books would be a problem, but the others could be adjusted. Remove or add a letter or two to create some more simetrical. For a few, with some research, you could find out their ___ of the ___ names, though they'd be unrecognisable. Or even split some in pieces like (I'm too lazy to look up anyone else so...) Robar son Din. There are all sorts of possibilities.
  24. "Devaan's called many people many things," Mejin said thinking back to all those years ago when he'd called her spoiled and indignant. "Doesn't mean he's always completely correct. A coward doesn't own up to his mistakes." Again her gaze drifted towards Lei who was now climbing onto a balcony. "And if it becomes between your guild or preventing war, where will you stand this time? Will your loyalty drown you out, or will you speak up?" She knew she may be pushing him a bit much, but knowing something like this was critical. @Arlin
  25. That would go back to the question of: is it canon?
