  3. @Sorana @xinoehp512 Deteca accepted the water thankfully. Considering the circumstances, this was not a time to be paranoid. After handing it back, she reviewed what she knew of what had happened during the fight as Zokora skimmed through camera viewpoints - Ghostblood ones, presumably. She had been fighting the gorilla-cat-whatever with Neil and Zokora. Fighting being a relative word, as she wasn't the best fighter - talking was far more her thing. It had complimented her, then apologetically tried to kill her with the excuse that it and its family would die if it didn't. Does this mean I just killed its family? She closed her eyes, opened them again. Didn't matter if she had. It'd probably been lying anyway. She forged on. Condemning her, TUBA, and their lifestyle, it had called them evil hypocrites - or something like that, it had been a bit fuzzier then and she hadn't been concentrating as hard. She'd been wounded sometime in there too, she reminded herself. Enough to make her faint, which was surprising. And she'd been pretty mad, right up until she suddenly just...wasn't. Instead she'd been tired, unmotivated. And then black splotches had crept toward the thing; that must not have all been her injury affecting her vision after all. But what had they done to it, and what had caused them? Deteca had never heard of Investiture with that description before. Could it have been something to do with Aons or the Dor, something Neil or another Elantrian among the warring groups had done? "I could take us to a roof a safe distance away. So that we can get an impression of the situation, judge better where to send our troops," Zokora said, and Deteca glanced up. She zoomed in on a few of the destroyed ruins and stared at them, blinking. "We could go there. I know the area well." Deteca let out a breath slowly. "Sounds good to me. Thank you." Avoiding eye contact by rubbing her frosty arm - why in the world was she so freezing? It wasn't that bad in the tunnels - she added, "I'm sorry."
  4. *aggravates the screeching more*
  5. @Blessing of Potency
  6. Cassie bit her lip, then stopped because it made it hard to speak. "Let us out." Better just say it. "Um, things...happened in the station while we were getting interrogated." She glanced behind her, still walking, to look at the others. "Like, er, Leona setting stuff on fire. And Flid explaining about magic. I don't know if the police believed us, but -" She cut off awkwardly before finally saying, "But yeah, either way it's not good. I'm so sorry. I..." I what? I tried to stop them? I didn't. I just stammered at the police and then when the others gave up I did absolutely nothing one way or the other. She held her breath, waiting. @Dr. Dapper
  7. I think those're also whole sentences though? Ene proceeds to roleplay her life away as opposed to *proceeds to roleplay life away* Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah that's way different.
  8. I agree with both of those, but would also add that action is most easily emphasized by asterisks as opposed to italics or bolding. While the latter two can technically work, it's very tenuous imo. Besides that, the concepts of emphasis and saying an action (an example being *wins*) are very different, and that's what I was debating. Yeah, I think we were misunderstanding each other A webcomic, yeah. Very STEM, math, programming-oriented. And for some reason there are a lot of dirty jokes.
  9. How else do you want me to explain it? What are you not understanding, tell me and I'll see if I can clarify.
  10. They're separate things - yes, if you use asterisks, that is one way to show emphasis, but creating an action through words is entirely different.
  11. No, of course you need to use the asterisks, but they aren't the same thing as emphasis. I *love* dogs! = I love dogs! *Ene professed her love of dogs* Different.
  12. No, I don't think I've ever worried about that.
  13. Why do you say that? What's a playhead?
  14. @Sorana This is different, Deteca thought, but it suddenly occurred to her that maybe she shouldn't be expressing weakness in front of another guild. Proposing an alliance was one thing; acting like Zokora was a sister was another entirely. She felt a pang at the thought of sisterhood, but shoved it away. Wait - emotion? Her emotions had been dull and fleeting if there at all during the time after the fight, but now mild panic and pain were rumbling a warning within her, and embarrassment was beginning to surface too. They were faint, but there. Her vision was still blurry and she felt physically numb, not to mention cold enough that she should've been shivering. But Deteca felt a little more rational. So she stayed silent as Zokora helped her up, staring unfocused at the rocky wall. Zokora was a good person. There were some who would've taken the chance to let the leader of an enemy guild die, but she had fought with Deteca and carried her to a healer. Carried her. She glanced down at her side again, confirming that it was fully healed. That Forger had done a good job. When she heard the voice, she at first thought it was another alarm informing them of a new assault, until she registered the intonation and message. "It's time to die." The tunnels trembled slightly - unless that was her imagination; Deteca wasn't sure whether or not to trust her sense of balance yet - and Zokora stilled before looking at her device. She held it out, showing her, and Deteca drank in the news. "That's..." She searched for words, her head unclear. "Not good." Frowning, she tossed her head lightly, but it didn't help. "Should we go up there?"
  15. TLT will probably discover that before TLPW
  16. Not anymore, Mr. Mod!
  17. I think you've forgotten about aluminum, my friend. Nothing beats ralkalest
  18. Yep, that's me.
  19. Oh okay that makes sense I know I've heard the term kinetic Investiture but I'm not sure if it applies to this or not.
  20. I never know what I'm trying to say
  21. As opposed to unInvested Stormlight?
  22. So do I, but it works better through text. That's true, but I don't think it has anything to do with this. Emphasis and action are different.
  23. I feel like it was an internet thing, doesn't really translate through speech.
