  1. Don't worry, they do. There is some Kingdom of the Isles strife interwoven, but it's well done and not too intrusive. And the final is worth reading through the couple of parts that are actually boring.
  2. I think you should give the later books a chance. The quality varies greatly from book to book, but in my opinion the total sum is positive. You should definitely read the Empire trilogy(the one with Jenny Wurts) though, that one is very very good and completely auutoconclusive so you will not be left hanging with the plot. Anyway, as I said the series as a whole is worth reading, but at times it really dragged itself. I think that after the first books Feist started having trouble balancing both the overarching plotline of Pug saving reality and the personal story of whatever character was there at the moment. Sometimes he managed to do so, but most of the time he had to sacrifice one in favor of the other. And in the case of the two books of the demonwar saga, he failed to do either one. Still, I say is work is better then avarage. He tried to do some interesting things thought with not much success at times. On a side note, his standalone novel, Fairy Tale, is very good, i recommend it to anyone.
  3. The idea of a triangular shape is interesting, but after a bit of reasoning Kurkistan model seems more natural to me. It seems more natural from a physics standpoint because most field effect have an intensity proportional to the inverse of the distance from the source. But also from a "Rithmatic" standpoint, it seems more natural to me that a rithmatch line can't create a define shape in 3D, but can only create a more vague field effect.
  4. Nice suggestion, I guess another bad idea is letting people breath on me, right?
  5. Uhm, it's possible, but I think it's unlikely. While it's highly probable that Joel will use rithmatich powers before the end of the series, I think it would be kind of dull if he started doing it just because someone convincend him he could. I think we can expect something more interesting from Brandon. Apart from this metagame-like reason, we know that in order to create a Rithmatist you need to bind something called Shadowblaze to a person. If the living graffiti Joel saw is the Shadowblaze, I think we can agree that it didn't seem to be boud to him, more like the exact opposite. Then again, now that I think about it, leading us to believe that that thing was a Shadowblaze while it isn't is a very Brandon thing to do. So maybe you are right. Still I propend for the no.
  6. For a Misting i'm not sure, maybe Lurcher to jump around. But the very best thing would be to be a Firesoul, goodbye sweeting in summer and trembling in winter, just fill or tap the brassmind as needed. Though, being a Subsumer would also be handy. I hate leaving leftovers after a meal and leaving the table hungry, that would solve both problems.
  7. Hi everyone! I'm one of the few Italian fans of Sanderson and i sometimes come here to keep up with theories, Brandon's answers and whatnot. I have actually alredy posted once in a discussion about warbreaker since my engineer studies had compelled me to help in a discussion about colors and light/energy but then I had gone back to lurking. Now, on the other hand, the possibility of discussing strange geometries about Rithmatisth is simply to enticing, so I thought it would be polite to introduce myself.
  8. Dang, just yesterday I was re-reading Rithmatist and had the same idea about 8 bind-point and the possible importance of triangles but someone beat me.
  9. Hi, engineering student here, I usually just come by to keep up to date with theories and what not, but this I have to answer since it's what i'm studing right now. You are mixing radion emission, which is dependant on the temperature of the object, and radiation absorption/reflection/transmission, which depends on the characteristics of the surface of the object. At ambient temperature the radion emission is always well in the range of infrared, so we can't see it. What we see, and identify as color of an object, is the radiation emitted by a source(lightbulb, fire, sun) and reflected by the object itself. So if we see that something is green is because it absorb all the frequencies of light except for the green. Something that reflects al frequencies is white and something that reflects none is black. Given this premise, when the awakeners drain color from something, they are not changing is temperature, but just changinge the properties of its surface so that now it reflects more frequencies. Btw, about the black and white shirt, you feel cooler in white because it reflects more frequencies(more light, more energy) than the black one that absorbs the energy and then transmits it to you.
