Taravangian is Thanosesque.  His intent to save, warped by his pride and lack of humility.  He already believes the cosmere is in chaos, ruled by fools, and he can't even see that far yet.

Now he's just compounded by the Shard's passion and fury.

The good intentions and "selflessness" is relatable because we all like to think that's enough to justify us.  But he's nothing more than the monster he's always been.

And now i've the image of Mr. T and Adrotagia:

    A: "Did you save Roshar?"

    T: "Yes"

A: "And what did it cost you?"

    T: "Everything..." :(

  2. I'm not there yet (but it's not a big deal for me to read some spoilers), but, maybe we shouldn't trust ANY of what is "written" when it's a Shallan chapter and she's alone (i.e without any other POV). I mean, she's an unrealiable narrator over 9000 ^^'. For me, nothing that she hear, sees, say, smell is a truth. It's to be taken with a grain of big big salt.

But, all explanation in this topic also work (i'm partial for the "repeating" thing from Mraizes or the "two" Mraizes).

I'm pure. I'm a child and stuff. I'm so storming pure I practically belch rainbows.

    -Lift.

damnation, I was going for it ^^.

    So, my other favorite quote:

    Quote

“Kaladin frowned. “Wait. Are you wearing cologne? In prison?”
“Well, there was no need to be barbaric, just because I was incarcerated.”
“Storms, you’re spoiled,” Kaladin said, smiling.
“I’m refined, you insolent farmer,” Adolin said. Then he grinned. “Besides, I’ll have you know that I had to use cold water for my baths while here.”
    “Poor boy.”
     Brandon Sanderson, Words of Radiance

    And also:

    Quote

    "Dalinar!" a voice called.
He turned to find the utterly incongruous sight of Sebarial and his mistress sitting beneath a canopy, eating dried sellafruit off a plate held by an awkward-looking soldier.
Sebarial raised a cup of wine toward Dalinar. "Hope you don’t mind," Sebarial said. "We liberated your stores. They were blowing past at the time, headed for certain doom."
Dalinar stared at them. Palona even had a novel out and was reading.

I remember laughting very hard imagining the sequence xD.

  4. Hey Gals and Guys,

This morning i've received the newsletters from Brandon, and I was most surprised to see that he was coming to Paris \o/. I've already place a "rest" day at work, and will be there.

So, if you want, I propose to ask a question to Brandon (most certainly RAFO but whatever ^^) and also help in case of retranscription of any other question.

Sibsidiary remarks: if any member of the 17th is coming, make yourselk known ^^. I'll be fun to discuss of Brandon while waiting his signature ^^.

  5. I love DW (oh wait, what gives me away? My avatar? My oath as KR :P?) because it's so much fun and entertaining. It worked for me, because I didn't expect anything ^^. The Doctor persona is so incredible oO. I really like is different incarnation (as Tenant, as Eccelston or most of all as Smith). Every Doctor is different and stay the same. The story are sometimes cheesy and some DEM is used, but damnation, it so great to see the Doctor resolved a situation with some tech-babble and some help of his companions xD.

  6. Tested the demo last night. It was F... incredible. I've find the feeling of the first X-com. I'm really impatient to see the full game ;)!

    - Tactics is prevalent: sent your men forward without reflection, and bam! Your team is dead.

    - Attachment to your soldiers: Yon can personalize them in any way you see fit. Then, when they died, it's really "important"

  7. Favorite Malazan Character is much easier though. Tehol Beddict!

Tehol and Bugg are the most freaking hilarious character I've ever read. Yep, favorite too ^^. I really can't choose.

For example in Reaper's Gale, Beak is one of the most incredible character ever oO.

  8. Nice to meetcha! You have good taste, Doctor Who, Malazan, Sanderson and Jordan are all big +1's in my book.

    Thanks ;)

What is your favorite Doctor who episode? How about favorite Malazan Character?

    Whaouh, tough question ^^.

Doctor Who: let's say "Blink" (series 3): weebly wobbly timey wimey stuff :D . But "A good Man goes to war" (series 6) is close behind.

Malazan: There's a huge cast of badass and incredible characters :P. It's really complicated to choose. Sergeant Helian, Whiskeyjack, and Quick Ben are one of my favorite.

  9. My favorite book of all time, simply (for me) the best book ever written is "Le petit Prince" (The little Prince). What an heartbreaking, inspiring, humorous, and good book.

    "Please, draw me a mutton"

On the fantasy level, it's a trick question :P. Let's say "A Game of Thrones"/Discworld Pratchett books series (all of them, I can't decide which one is better ;) ). Then Malazan series.

In third place (last but not the least) The wheel of time series and Sanderson cosmere books :P.

Yep, I cheated, but hey, I'm a Mat Cauthon fan so, it goes with it :P

  10. I've been a Jordan fan at the beginning. Then, I've learned of his demise and learned that Brandon Sanderson was supposed to finish the series. First, i've beed thinking about the poor lad, the overwhelming tons of work he was supposed to be doing (and I've sent him an email-to which he responded- wishing him good luck). I've then read Mistborn trilogy, and became a huge fan of his work and of his writting technique (dude this man can write, it's incredible ôO)
