Oh, hey, another poetry person. I quite enjoy writing those too.
Love the art on this thread. I'll post some of what I've written in a bit, by way of application.
Edit: put in the following.
Playing as a child
The bank would call to me.
Littered with the refuse
Of its estate, nevertheless
It was regal and grand
To me.
And in the tumbled briar,Mixed with that thicket
I found somewhere to be.
Not 'be' as parents ordain,
Not placid nor perfect. I was something all my own;
One with the wildness of the place,
Exulting in the joy of dried riverbed,
Wall and bracken,
Growth and stone.
As a child, it was simply beauty.
It bespoke the wild tales,
The exciting places of myth.
Having shed my better years?
It's unproductive. Waste and
Purposeless.
But not for all of me would I allow,
For one sweet park of peace,
Man to intrude with spade and plough.
Beyond the green, green lawns
May it always remain;
A place for the wild, the young,
The not-quite-sane, like me.
O Felurian silver-fleet
Of midnight down and twilit flower,
Of blossoms tempest shook
And night’s most secret, sacred hour.
Lithe form and Faeish grace
The hair a liquid darkness ‘round your face,
Your skin as lilies, white as lace.
O Felurian of the storm-tossed skies!
Whose face would raise a thousand shipsTo drown in wonder at your eyes.
Felurian, ca thra mien ca te!
Your lips are soft as love,
As warm as life.
To go without would be a knife.
O Felurian! I would willing pay
To die each night within your arms
Safe from the coldness of the night
And warmed by outer glory’s inner storms.
Such beauty and vitality!
If ever woman chanced to meSuch danger and mystery
I would throw a kingdom at her feet;
All men would bow before her, as their Queen
And I would pray, pray, she’d raise me for her King.
All fettered to the earthly tide
Of silver, gleam and moon -
Oh come ye lost, confused and hurt!
There lies more sacred here a tune
Of time when mistletoe could pierce
A heart.
Oh Baldur fair-of-face, of Spring
Was named most beautiful of lords -
A joke! The chains of time were held
And at his fairest throat, they were a sword
To cut away the life blood. The bell of doom
Has knelled.
Now comes the winter of the age,
Our faces weep in time, but none
Can care, for times have swept
And we have wept before. No fun
Is had in tomb or hall, but death
Is kept.
This is the tune that we must sing -
It holds no merriment, but it is truth.
By horn and hare, the Valkyries and
Valhalla's far flung mystic roof
We'll sing no other, though our bones may turn
To sand. And then the ones I posted concerning Cosmere here.
I love those poems!! The rhyming, the descriptions are a painting, a completely different style from mine, but they're amazing =)
Ah, ok @Gargoyle Thanks!

Also, have you ever tried your hand at Ketek?
Sure. Do I share on here?
Yes, I have. And failed majestically failed and have I, yes.

That moment when you don't know what to do, because you want to do a whole bunch of things at once and none of them are actually what you need to do.
Just a random observation^
Nothing in particular.
Of course.

Don't accept the cookies!!!!!! They tend to be baked through a hemalurgic process and the Bakery itself is a very shady place That sentence is from Warbreaker and I would definitely encourage you NOT to say it, as it will turn you into basically a lifeless zombie with no will of your own
I second this^ *nods*

A friend recently introduced me to Nethack. That's a pretty awesome game.
Also playing Minecraft.
And Mario Brawl on occasion.

Hmmm, strange. Seems like I've downgraded. Shouldn't bridgeman be before spearman?

Please go into long phsycologicla rant.
I beg.
Ha! Ok.
See, the later into the night you stay awake, the more awake you become, causing spikes of energy such of- whatstheword, spontaneous initiative. Your brain wanders because it doesn't know in which direction this spontinaety is going to take you (for me, it's generally cleaning my room lol), and so then you hear music. Music in general opens up pathways of creativity, but especially softer, more classical kinds of music. So, having a pathway opened through which this spontaneous initiative can travel, it rushed through. <- I should probably mention most of this is from my own observation and not based off of any research, so don't take to it as fact.
And I could go on to say how this doesn't always happen, and the less sleep deprived you are the more likely for it to happen, and why that is. And how that works. But that would take a long time, so... I'd prefer not to.
*bows* Thank you for your attention =P

"Four." ~LoTR
And-
"Oh, it's a case of they'll think I'll think that they'll do A, so they'll do B because I wouldn't think they'd think of that but then because I might think I know that they're thinking they'll do A after all because I wouldn't think they'd think that way," said Will.
Halt looked at him for a long moment in silence, "You know, I'm almost tempted to ask you to repeat that." ~Ranger's Apprentice.

Why only ideas come to me in such quantity and quality at times like this?
Aka - my mind wanders, I'm tired, I should have long be sleeping (it's 4:30 am), some quiet acoustic guitar music plays... boom! I have had a few solid ideas to fix the plot and another few good ideas for worldbuilding.
*considers going into a long phsycological rant as to why the brain works this way* *doesn't*
I'll just kinda lamely say because that's how the brain works *sage nod*

You could, but we would need to revive this game and set a few more guide lines. Free form roleplay doesn't work out to well with the cosmere when you tread into non-canon areas.
Ah, ok.

Interesting... My first thought about that prompt was the danger of 'fridging', which is a thing that happens all the time, and more often than it should.
Oh, true... Fortunately, it didn't go in that direction for anyone.

I enjoy art. I'm more in the way of creative writing and such, particularly poems. But I enjoy any kind of art, as it is.

Oh, I see. Let's not let that become eight, then. Seeing as eight is a rather boring number *wry grin*

Lol, was I accusing anyone specifically? Not that I'm aware of.

The writing prompt was a sentence of sorts: "She died." And that was all we were given. We could work backwards from there or forwards. I think my best writing came from that prompt.

Haha, perhaps. (passive-aggressively??? Surely not.)
also, lol. I feel I should explain xD Mafia is my brother's account, and he didn't log out, and I didn't realize it, so I accidentally responded in that one. Imagination is one of my poems *nods*
