Anniversary Game 7/Anonymous Game 9: From Embers, A Flame
Charcoal Hyena replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I thank you on behalf of my neutral friends, Who greatly appreciate this gift of a delayed end. While I have already succeeded, they have not, And I know they deserve more than what they got. Praise be to the Mouse, who gave us this. Without you, I know we'd all be lost. Thank you for this chance to exist For one more day, before the final cost. And thank you to the village for agreeing. Victory is sweet, and so I know What this means, for you to be delaying. Thank you for the victory you forgo. And while I'm on the subject gratitude, I'd like to thank the Voices of God. They've run a great game of verisimilitude, And quite frankly, I am still in awe. Praise be to all, and to all a good night. Keep on fighting the good fight.- 1222 replies

I feel somewhat guilty Ruin did not get an opportunity To respond and apologise Instead of simply dying. Perhaps we should have waited For Dingo to get online Instead of striking them down Immediately this time. Ah well, no point in lamenting What cannot be changed or Altered. Let us consider Our action course. Who should we vote On the next day? Octopus, yes? Or is There another we'll say?- 1222 replies

I am a newer player, but I concur That blackmail is wrong and To demonstrate its wrongness We are allowed to make a stand In voting for the person who was Trying to force a player's hand. As such, I vote for Melon Dingo (Amber Vulture). This behaviour shouldn't be part of our culture. If @Melon Dingo apologises and swears a vow To never act this way again to anyone And respect the boundaries of others Who do not want to be smothered By the blackmail of another person, Which should be their right to have Then I would be willing to return to Voting out elim suspects, so Dingo, you Must beg the forgiveness of the neutrals You have blackmailed, or you'll be removed. This behaviour is reprehensible And we should not let it be possible In SE. Dingo, I loved your poetry, But I will not forgive you until they do.- 1222 replies

It seems that Amber Vulture is on the chopping block, So I'll throw my vote there on this day. I must vote every cycle, after all, So I'll obey what the Mouse has to say.- 1222 replies

I was unaware until I asked the Voices of God If I would be informed when I finished my vote win-con This cycle, so I could not have acted in this way. Truly unfortunate that I did not ask, since it may have saved a day.- 1222 replies

If my eyes have not failed me, A vote was added to both People with votes. I see The vote manip was plentiful. So who should we execute On this fine day so graciously Granted by Preservation's might So that we might have time to think? EDIT: I was told of a good thing: That I've completed my voting, Which means that Dingo is good, If that was ever in question.- 1222 replies

Since the village is united In its quest to kill the Ostrich, I feel safe to vote a villager As part of my win-con here. No one would ever X the Dingo, So I'll vote them and hit bingo. After this, I'll follow traffic Led by the villagers seraphic. For you I'd march off of a cliff With open eyes and no prayer glyph. (Perhaps I voted the Melon just so I could rhyme.) (Of this information, I can neither confirm nor deny.) To Dingo: Please do not take offense. I know this vote may make you somewhat tense. This is a sign of my trust in you, Since I know no one else will vote on you too. I simply adore your poetry And hope you will send more to me. Do not despair, all will be well. With hope all doubt shall be quelled. We stand united against our foe. The end draws back, as if it knows That together we will succeed Against our enemy's deeds, And though our soldiers fall, Our people still stand tall. For our lives, we fight. Through the void comes light. The light of hope, of peace, of triumph As we all still stand defiant Against the Champions of Hate And try to turn the tides of fate. But for the grace of Gods we go. Despite the deaths, my instincts know That we shall win against our enemy. Look at our efforts, it's plain to see That we are valiant in the face of fear And cling to that which we hold dear. The end looks into our eyes and backs away. It knows it will not win upon this day. Together, we are strong. We shall prove the enemy wrong. Despite their efforts, we defy All attempts to make us die. We live in spite of them, Wielding our brightened gems And letting them tumble And falter and stumble As we march onwards With hearts of Honor As the worlds fall, we remain. We refuse to be tamed. And when all is said and done, We'll be able to say, "We won."- 1222 replies

I will say this, as a newer player who has never been in a village trust circle: My overarching desire is to know, and being excluded makes me feel somewhat awful, and I can never trust things that others know but I don't. PMs allow for more stable trusts, since people can reveal their secret knowledge without fear of being killed and left an empty husk, but this makes the circles more exclusive. However, I will say that as a neutral I may be slightly biased as I've not put in much effort at all to be trusted as I might have if I wa genuinely a Child of Adonalsium and not a Life Emporium. Trust circles are inevitable as people who analyse and synthesise and coalesce and bind for others like themselves they seek and sometimes find. However, to keep the outsiders appeased, I ask that reasoning be publicised along with the results please, and live updates perhaps. That would make me happier at least. Apologies if my thoughts do not come across very well. Rhyming them is difficult, as you can tell.- 1222 replies

Anniversary Game 7/Anonymous Game 9: From Embers, A Flame
Charcoal Hyena replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
We must consider the possibility That this saving was not a Shardic action, for you see, Rhino could have Invested Ostrich in the night, And the X trickled down to them, and they couldn't find another to fight. However, because of Solemnheart's statement, It could have genuinely been what we think it meant. Maybe Ostrich is the Father of Hate Or some other powerful entity we must face. "I have a confession!" Soren cried as he stood upon his stage That he'd constructed out of blood and sweat and tears of rage. "I am Survival, third of the neutral Shards, and I come before you to say "That I have nearly finished voting on my requisites. I'll be done by next day. "I must vote for one last villager, but after that, I'll be free "To throw my vote wherever I please. "To verify my identity, there are many you can ask. "Gorilla, Elephant, Dingo, Mouse, and Iguana are up to the task. "I ask to be left alone to survive in the corner, "Without being voted on or attacked and murdered. "The Champions have no incentive for my death, "So if you agree, I'll continue to draw breath." The poet bowed and hopped off the stage of wood and metal, Leaving the room in a flurry of flower petals.- 1222 replies

The poet stood upon the stage, Chanting words. "Behold the Rage "Of the Father of Hate! "He cannot sate "His hunger for our golden age "Of light and laughter to be found. "He is free, no longer bound! "Fear the end! "Take care, my friends. "He hunts, relentless as the bloodied hound." The poet quaffed a glass of wine And smiled, as though all was fine. "We're going to die. "The end is nigh. "The Voice of God now has a Shrine." "Despite our best efforts, the Voice has freed our foe. The end is nigh. "Do not deny it, it simply is true. This we know: The end is nigh. "We dance in the darkness and strive for the light, but hope fades fast. "The night draws closer and swallows us, whispering as it goes, 'The end is nigh.' "We fight back with swords made of paper and shields of foam, praying to be ignored, "But even with the knives we craft, the enemy won long ago. The end is nigh. "The gleaming gold doth tempt the fools who long for easy treasure. "For those who falter and fail, misfortune shows the end is nigh. "You flee with wind beneath your wings, with divinity on your side, and it seems you cannot fail now. "Even with the grace of Gods, the monster comes near. You were too slow. The end is nigh." The poet's cries fall upon deaf ears. No one wants to believe the finale draws near. Despite their disbelief, the monsters come and so it goes. The end is nigh. On the Mouse's analysis, I'll put a vote on Plum Rhinoceros. I trust the Mouse's knowledge, Since if they were bad, we'd all be dead. They know too much to be a Servant of Hate, So I'll trust them and their points as of late- 1222 replies

It seems I've forgotten to actually comment on the day's events, Despite my memory of having done so. This is quite strange, and I'm saddened to see that my modus operandi Has been done already, so perhaps I should just go. Possibility the first becomes more reasonable When one postulates that the Lightweaver is out of Light. This outcome is perfectly possible And extricates us from the odd sight Of plentiful vote manipulation, which is awful For our execution security in the time after night. Perhaps now is the time to elaborate on suspicions, Since we are left bereft after Gecko's execution. I believe Rhino was batted about. Of the reasons why, do shout. This useful time we must not shun.- 1222 replies

The Cognitive Realm Is what objects appear to Be, not what they are. Losses include: our History, our memory, What makes us ourselves. We lack our context. Without it we are nothing. Voids that can't be filled. As I have stated, the killer was stopped By a roleblock, most likely from destruction. Occam's Razor, and no one has stepped Forwards as a roleblocker at this junction. I shall throw my vote upon The Taupe Gecko, as it seems we have agreed upon. Giving Mercy the chance to Invest them again Seems like a folly beyond all mortal ken. However, I'd like A bit more discussion. We Have time. Don't waste it.- 1222 replies

Behold a quotation from the rules. Bow down before it, you tools. Perhaps the killer was on the Land of Beads, Since all those on it are roleblocked. However that option is not our only lead, Since we have items, Autonomy, Valor's Investee, Sandmasters, Trappers, and possibly Returned, Though is impossible since they would have died in the deed.- 1222 replies

Charcoal Hyena replied to Elbereth's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Alas, I hit submit too soon. Ignore this now, until the moon. Update: Still not done, just wait for fun. Update: At long last, it is complete. I hope you also find it neat. It seems that in the night, The voices all will stop. To keep up the good fight, I will set up shop As an analyst of posts, And all the things we've said. I will do my upmost To analyse the thread. On the first day much was said. With many words draped in red. Axolotl led With banter and a vote on The Scorpion thing. Then Vatorr made toys And did nothing noteworthy. Just some banter here. The Elephant marched In with a drunken stumble. Nothing important. Then I came in with Poetry about the game. Nothing much of note. The Kangaroo proposes a very strange plan. The neutral Shards should claim to all the land. It also requests PMs with every single player, But that's not as important as their idea about sayers. The Crocodile claims Braize and exists. Though ignorance and confusion both persist. Flamingo also doesn't know what is going on. It doesn't even know who it is, like a newborn faun. The Penguin, ever the mimicker, asks for messages With everyone that exists and all the vestiges. The Axolotl questions why the Penguin has no thoughts That are not stolen from someone else's pot. The Penguin copies, and Flamingo calls them out With exclamations and a mighty shout. The Gecko tries and fails at being human. Perhaps it should try to be a new man. Elephant chastises the people for not knowing what's going on, Since it is unbelievably drunk yet ideas still do spawn. Penguin copies everything. One day it will learn to sing. Axolotl talks to the Elephant. For once, it does not rant. The Elephant responds in words of drunkenness And comments how Roshar is dangerous. The Rhino finds itself in desert wastes, Without an identity or name or face. The Axolotl notes that avoiding Roshar is mere common sense As no one wants to go to where the murder will commence. The Lion lives in Shadesmar in the form of a rat. That was not what was intended, but we decided that. The Voice of God clarifies extorting Prudence for conversation. It can happen at any time throughout the entire nation. The Zebra predicts false highstorms Which seems to be its norm. Penguin speaks copied Words from the Great Voice of God Requesting PMs. Axolotl asks For protection from Hatred And PMs with Drunk. Weasel imprisoned For theft of valuables. It's not a good thief. The Tuatara Offers prophecy about Our fate. We are doomed. Gorilla throws a vote on the Roo For proposing Shards claim. That takes two people off the kill list, And clears them of blame. The Axolotl Agrees and may vote for The Kanga later. Heron throws a vote At Octopus for "reasons" I don't like this much. Zebra votes Penguin For banter reasons, just fluff. Pay it no mind here. The Kangaroo points out that Survival and Autonomy Are neutral Shards that can't Invest, and thus have no value For the Champions, and so they won't be killed and we Won't waste time executing the useless ones, which is true. Elephant responds to things While alcohol drinking. Crocodile wants PMs with Opal, Sapphire, and Charcoal. It could be distancing, But since Opal is Pru And Ele and I are speaking, I hope this is not true. Rhino makes some notes about The planet and its reams of doubt. Some PM requests with odd Numbered players. Axolotl disagrees with the Roo, But lays off them in favor of The one they agreed with earlier, Which is odd and a bit rough. Ostrich wants a family, Since they lack this, as you see. The Beagle offers travel tips To the Orchid that does not exist. Albatross points out that though Odium is dangerous, The Rosharan system offers benefits that may offset the risk. Get out of Roshar, the bird advises us, And Preservation could save, in a pinch. The Gorilla notes that there was nothing much of note, And therefore nowhere else to put its vote. The Axolotl notes that the Gorilla could have waited Instead of throwing a vote on obvious targets that baited. The Gecko thinks that voting often is superior, But this one isn't trustworthy, so perhaps it is inferior. The Gorilla thinks that doing nothing is quite bad, And discussion should be provoked by stabbing what we have. The Axolotl concurs, but thinks the vote was hasty, And begging for a train, which is not that tasty. Crocodile throws a fuss about voting habits, When it would rather be hunting rabbits. Axolotl thinks 'twas not a poke vote at all, So the complaint is not relevant to the brawl. The Purple Crocodilian says that was the point That they were trying to make without a sword. Gorilla thinks that reasoning makes votes not pointy, And asks Prudence for some PMs for anointing. The Axolotl agrees that poke votes are bad And they are arguing the same side, which is sad. Scorpion the deathspren proclaims that it exists, And wonders if the Dingo does as well. After the poke vote discussion, I'm surprised this person dared to cast this swell. Ostrich wants to be adopted by the skeleton. The unfortunate soul has lost parents a ton. Coral Swan notes the risks inherent in the neutrals, Which is true and should be noted for the future. The Mouse wants PMs And writes a song for them. The Octopodes in a Trenchcoat does some thinking About varied yet obvious things They also want a bit of secret talking. The Voice of God declares that notifying Is permitted and to stop screaming. The Mouse begs for Mercy, Of which they shall not receive Lion searches for the answers That it does not find and can't swear. I, the poet, am a fool Who writes words with tools. Mouse stabs Iggy with its words Without reasoning but also without swords Axolotl claims that my words are not rule specific, Which is wrong and quite unfortunate. They want more PMs, And tell a story about the olden times of fortunates. The Dragonfly exists and wants PMs to match its jolly jaunts. Vulture buys some turnips And asks for PM slips. The Elephant throws a vote at Crocodile for distracting the tenset. The Mouse goes a'hunting With a bird by its side. The future was humming With triumph and pride. Crocodile retaliates with reasoning That is quite good, you have to see. To be fair, I didn't like the Axolotl For their change in opinion at full throttle. Then again, as the Axolotl notes, There wasn't much substance behind any vote. The Crocodile agrees, but thinks That it disincentives votes and things. The Lion thinks that all early Votes have poor reasoning And throws one on the Croc For not acknowledging. The Crocodile backtracks And says they will think, But Lion's vote is strange, And worthy of some time sink. The Gorilla thinks Conversation is quite good. Coral Swan seems vil. Axolotl needs Some cough drops or medicine. That's not good for throats. Iguana offers some. Perhaps it is the one. Axolotl thanks The iguana for trying. Test it for poison. The Lion did not Know that Croc had votes. Besides, It's not for a grudge. Dingo shows at last. Claiming bad. Asking is NAI. Niru Drash is God. The Iguana's cure Does not work that well, it seems. It causes coughs though. The Voice of God! (BOW) And a vote count, all hail. Bow before the Voice. Rhino does some tests. It's very inconclusive. Sand is course and rough. The Penguin coughs Which must be quaffed Crocodile can't Understand the vibes that are In abundance there. Lion understands, And knows that it will not stand. Summon the new band! Crocodile still Does not understand the way Of the vibe. The fool. Axolotl wants To sleep, so needs a brief form Of all of the posts. Penguin still coughs lots. Get better soon, tot. Crocodile flings the vote On Kangaroo for its note About the neutral Shards, Since the strat is bad. Gecko sees double. This may be trouble. Soren (Hyena) Votes for Roo because that strat Is bad. This was sus. Gecko fixed double! No more trouble! Axolotl throws A vote at Crocodile For the train and votes. The Hyena throws Down reasoning based on the PMs they had then. Kangaroo hurls Their reasoning and defense. They want discussion. The Axolotl Does not comprehend PMs. They ask, demanding. Mouse shares confusion But deciphers how 'twas done. Clever little Mouse. Lion thinks claiming Helps Champions more than vil So claiming is bad. Axolotl wants PMs with a drunk and a Coral Swan, says he. Hyena offers A summary of pros/cons. Explains Invention. Axolotl gets confused by Shards and neutrals, and where they lie. The Hyena offers explanation For the creature's accommodation. Axolotl comprehends, And bids them a good night to spend. Albatross agrees That claiming is bad, but still Roo is not that sus. The Voice of God says To remember the end Again, Voice of God. Prudence PMs are instant. Items nonsense too. The Mouse gives a song To Axolotl Brockett. It was quite good, too. Heron wants PMs with rocks. Maybe to show off its socks. Elephant thinks that Broadcasting lack of reads is Odd, showing aloof. Flamingo returns. Votes on Croc because the Roo Seems fine and harmless. The Mouse was ignored. It was probably a bore. Opal Lion wants PMs, And so does the Flamingo. The Albatross concurs, And notes the vote's not locked though. The Scorpion of Death finds the claiming To be an alright course of action, though not amazing. Zebra wants more options Than the two we have. So he votes Gorilla as discussion And agreeing with the Croc. Ostrich will not vote Since they are going to sleep. They also note That Prudence is so sweet. Gorilla asks for Elaboration on votes. They've all been lacking. Vulture says that strange Things are likely said by vil Since elims hate risk. Croc pours on the desperation, Calling out across the nation, "I'm innocent!" "It just makes sense!" Begging for a stay of execution. Gecko votes on Kangaroo, Which only adds to my suspicions. I'm certain they're elim, Join my petition! The Penguin speaks With a strange beak The Elephant finds Flamingo more suspicious Than Crocodile. Kangaroo votes Croc Out of self-preservation. This pays off later. And the Voice of God Exclaims: "Time is up now. Hush." Bow before the Voice! In conclusion: Gecko's obviously guilty. Axolotl was a tad bit strange. I don't know much about the rest, But I must depart for a great time range. Farewell, goodbye. I'll return when the end is nigh.- 1222 replies

Nine people voted for Gecko, but only 7 took effect. One vote was removed by the First Sun. In addition, there is an extra vote on the Hound, So one was moved away to the other one. This means we have a Lightweaver in play, Though whether elim or village we can't say. As for the lizard's survival, I suspect That they are Mercy's Investee, As the Voices of God have confirmed That this situation would work as we see. However, this does not clear them, Since Mercy can Invest Champions. Mercy could even be evil, Despite this complete upheaval Of social expectations Throughout our entire nation. Congratulations to the PM maker, Now make messages for me please, With everyone, I'm a taker! @Opal Lion, I know you can grant these.- 1222 replies

Out of the Bloodhound and the Lizard, I find Taupe Gecko more suspicious For their votes without reasoning, And their reads on silent persons, fictitious. While the Beagle's questions are quite odd, We only get the view through the one lens. It could be idle curiosity or something else That we simply cannot comprehend. Out of all our candidates, I think Gecko is the best to die, Since of the reasonings to date, Gecko's cannot be written off.- 1222 replies

Allow me to elaborate: I possess a Seon. The Croc requested a Prudence PM With moi, so I hopped on Wondering what they wanted, Of relevant matters we spoke none. The discussion was not brief Though I started it a day after cycle start. We chatted quite a lot, And their grammar and syntax seemed Remarkably like one I know, So I wanted to keep them afloat. As I said above, Their speech patterns were quite like Someone I know well. This shouldn't clear them, But I thought I could get reads If they were alive. I quite like talking, And Prudence did not grant me Private messages. Would you like to inform us as to the planet that this is? Or shall we languish in a lack of information. For Autonomy's own sake, perhaps you shouldn't. But I wish you would indulge in the temptation. I want to know the answer, But feel free to not share.- 1222 replies

Evidently, Odium targeted Prudence for death, But the other attack did not work at its behest. The Investee obviously attacked a Shard Or there was protection, and the killer was barred From acting as it would, striking down any it chooses, Like the Dakhor Monk or Ruin's Chosen, who uses Stabs in the darkened shadows of night Marking down the darkness that flees from the light. I am thankful that Mint Heron had Invested, As without that we'd be left bereft of hope. At least the Investees can make PMs instead, Which offers all the drowning souls a rope. I can understand your suspicion of me. If I were you and you were me, I would agree. However, I do not comprehend This suspicion on the not-Orangutan. To Prudence, I'll repeat my request, To offer a PM with everyone at my behest. At last we escape The Shards and their many rules. Huzzah, free at last! Onto minor roles. Limited use. Be careful. Don’t waste your charges The Edgedancer has Stormlight aplenty. From bloody wounds and ails it can cure. The Thug survives all wounds and the many, But scant few times before you must procure. You have a corpse or two or three that serves. It dies for you without needing to act. The poisoner kills people that deserve But you can’t change your target so use tact. To kill, you serve Dakhor for sacrifice. The Sandmaster can use its sand to halt As can the trapper, but that is alright. The Runner redirects using assault. It specifies its target action too, But that will fail if you guess not true. The Slider is like the Windrunner, With redirects galore. Elantrians learn targets, not actions. The Truthwatcher’s the same, no less, no more. Awakeners burn Breath to learn so much But firstly the Investiture of friends. From Normal roleless, High Invested or With minor roles, to Shards with awe-some might. Those who serve the Seventeenth are the same With assets not Breath. Forgers take from Death By carving stamps of minor roles. They claim Just one per corpse and can’t return to rest. The Soother washes down sweet brass to strike Down targets’ votes, but Lightweavers just change Them, cancelling their own vote with lifelike Illusions. But Elisians are strange. They can’t convince the people to abstain. Because of this their own vote will remain. The Returned are something odd, Born of Death and wondrous gifts. You can die again to act, And Endowment’s offerings to your life do lift. You can stop people from acting Or save them from a death Or take away their poison stabbings. Or charge up their roles and items. Items number six types, flavoured by their respective Shardworld. They are kills, protects, vote cancels, action scans, roleblocks, and PMs. Even though these items are single-use, they do not disappear when used. Many things can charge them, like Roshar or Returned. See, Invention wants to make them, so hit them up and you’ll get rewarded. Permanent passive items do not get used up. Alerters will see a single action that targeted you. Seons will create a singular PM, to be changed at will. Spanreeds start out linked, and the PM stays until one of you dies. Interestingly, passing happens before the item check, but receiving happens after. Very useful, if you’re a hoarder of items. Ending items, at long last. Acrostics are quite useful for conveying information. Each Shardworld has worldhoppers aplenty And all of them can speak in private too. Autonomy’s aspects get to talk there, So go see them so they’ll have someone to talk to. Roshar charges items/minor roles, And Braize doubles your vote. Ashyn lets you repeat actions, And Scadrial protects you with a note: Protection is a chance against non-Scadrians. On Sel, you can take items from the dead. On Nalthis you can get a brand new item, And on First of the Sun, one vote will be removed from what’s been said. Taldainers are immune to redirects, With a slight chance of roleblocks as well. Shadesmar gets free PMs with others, And a temp one with an outsider, quite swell. Done at last, took years and forever, sanity crumbles, insane forever and years taken lasting, at dawn.- 1222 replies
