  1. @Ivory Dragonfly I don't think that you were being overly aggressive at all. "At their throats" was a figure of speech - it felt like both of you were accusing each other and reacting strongly back (in ways that were completely and totally appropriate at all times, I might add...) I'll see what I can do with regards to meaningful content. I might just pick 4 or 5 players and follow them closely - just to narrow the field down to something my brain can handle. But no, meta conversations aren't weird, and they are often quite important! Keep at it. For me, the primary thing drawing my attention is the spat between you and Dragonfly. I am surprised by the vehemence of your response, and that has drawn attention for me. I'm certain that it's not worth voting on yet, but it is interesting. I'd be more interested in the way Dragonfly agreed with you despite suspecting you except for the fact that your comments on the harmful nature of inactivity are hard to disagree with. However, I am certain that poke votes is not the best way to deal with the problem. Or, at least, it harms the village more than it helps. Consider: we are more than halfway through D2. D1 had a great deal of discussion, but nothing organized and no strong suspicions came out of it. Today has generally followed suit. If we waste our remaining time on poke votes (which I have historically understood as votes which are placed solely for the purpose of trying to get a player posting, and which will be removed if a post happens), we will come to the close of the day with no lynch target. And when we go back to analyze today's conversation, all of the poke votes will seem innocuous. It's hard to find patterns of behavior when everyone is voting to get other people posting and then removing the vote after they do that.
  2. I'm a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of players in this game - sorry for not being active. I'm hoping that in a cycle or two, we'll be down to a size that my brain can process better. I keep wanting to be active, but I have no idea where to start. It looks like Oxblood Beagle is putting themselves in kind of a leadership role for the village. But I got a PM from Oxblood asking me to be more active and contribute to the game, which seems like an awfully village thing to do. The Flamingo and the Dragonfly are also going at each other's throats. Which is something to keep an eye on. Flamingo is starting to sound quite defensive, but that's not necessarily alignment indicative.
  3. Rather a dull night cycle, after such an active day. I need to go back over the day and look at the voting patterns. At the moment, I suspect that Swan is also village, just because a D1 lynch on an Elim is unlikely. It would be nice to know for sure, though - that way we could know whether or not the votes that shifted the lynch from Swan to Dingo are worth investigating. Other than that, I don't have too much to say. After we see who the Elims and the Dustbringer attack, it will be a different story.
  4. @Coral Swan @Taupe Gecko While vote manipulation can potentially give useful information in specific circumstances, more often we end up with disinformation. If there are two villagers up for the lynch (a likely outcome on D1), any vote manipulation could easily serve to direct our attention in a wrong direction.
  5. Mauve Crocodile Sorry for missing 24 hours, everyone. I was taken up with a family get-together and related activities most of the day yesterday. As a result, I wasn't here to take my vote off of @Mauve Crocodile in a timely fashion. But now that they've shown up, I have no reason to keep the vote there. On the day 1 lynch discussion, I did see Seonid's rather passionate rant about it in LG41. It was an interesting idea, but IIRC, it was only useful if there wasn't a lot of discussion or any good reads D1. We have 7 pages of discussion here, and a reasonable amount of it is actually game related. I don't think that lynching an inactive is useful right now. It looks like Dingo and Swan are the lynch targets at present? I've just read through the whole thread, and I can't tell what the reasons for voting either are. Anyone want to enlighten me? Maybe it's just the sheer volume of the thread, but I'm having issues following the thread of the arguments.
  6. Well this is going to be fun. 30 players. This is going to be a long game. I look forward to playing with everyone! I'll vote on Mauve Crocodile, who hasn't shown up yet.
